Another good example of DRM being harmful even if you don't enable it actually occurred today in Windows XP on my sister's computer...Apparently the "copy protect content" checkbox in WMP9/WMP10 is automatically checked on install, she'd been ripping all her CD's DRM'ed without even knowing it. Since then she's lost most of the CD's but she was careful to keep a backup of all the music from her hard drive, unfortunately for her, her hard drive died yesterday and when she reinstalled Windows all her licenses were gone, leaving her with about 30gb of useless data carefully preserved on an external drive. Needless to say she was devastated as much of it was content she couldn't get back, just because you can disable DRM doesn't mean it's not dangerous.

As far as newer mp3 players I've heard they've departed from their easy mass storage ways and gone to needing all sorts of crazy drivers and such...I'd say find one you like that is universal without any form of manager then use your favorite music program to sync the files up.

I know plenty about computers sir, repairing them has been my job my whole life. Just to let you guys know though, this is one pirate that's going to snag the corporate copy from work. I have a feeling the ones who download stuff like this off Limewire or Emule have more to worry about than the little bit of malware that could come with Vista since they're probably already heavily infected.

Quite frankly, it's his money...and since he's decided to give it to charity he should be able to decide what charities to give it to. Technically speaking he could just burn it all to keep his house warm, or buy millions of hookers. Even if he had spent a billion dollars on Christian education that still isn't anywhere near what he gives to everything else. I think respect should be given where it's due, as much as I don't like Microsoft, Bill Gates is giving a lot of money that he earned willingly to help those less fortunate. Thanks Bill, keep it up.

I do the same thing...replay value adds a whole lot of hours on top of the generic playtime on the first time through it. I've also been playing through blood money, chaos theory (double agent kind of sucked), and oblivion for probably the 10th time. I've logged what seems like 1000 gameplay hours in blood money and there's no end in site, there's nothing like making a whole level full of innocents assume room temperature. Give me a game with replay value and 10 hours to beat it the first time and I'll be happy.

From what I understand you'd still have to hit some form of submit button (fields are hidden but once Firefox fills them in you gotta get them to their server somehow). It seems to me like this kind of thing is an unforeseen natural side effect of anything that automatically fills in your information...Firefox is just doing what it's been told to do on that site, although I fail to see the mass damage here besides a bunch of emo kids getting their MySpace pages defaced since I doubt important sites like financial institutions or government related pages allow any custom content like this. The only thing that would scare me is if a phishing attack could use this to have it automatically entered...now that would be a bug.
