...considering Crytek went to great lengths to make sure that Crysis ran better on Nvidia hardware, I'd say they're going to publically speak out against anything which threatens (a graphic hardware company like Nvidia's) business, since I've always heard that when ray tracing is perfected, discrete graphic hardware advancement will no longer be needed (since, if ray tracing makes stuff look photorealistic, what need is there for further advancement?

Old? Oh, come on, Kyle was barely 25 when that movie came out.:P
But you're right -- the "weirding devices" made absolutely no sense, but you have to admit the book is kinda vague on what, exactly, the "weirding way" is, anyway.
And you're right -- anything Kevin J. Anderson touches is horrible. I read the first three books in the "Butlerian Jihad" series, and I seriously had to force myself to continue reading it by about the third one, just out of respect for Frank's bones, but it was seriously painful -- the book is horrible. Horrible. Did I say it was horrible?
Not that I have any great, overwhelming love for the original Lynch movie, but I think he did a good job showing the "inner monologue" parts with the narration work.
No offense to the Gnash team -- I thoroughly commend their efforts -- but I've hardly ever got any Flash to load up in it, at all. If you're using 64-bit linux, just use a 32-bit version of Firefox (heard that it works and it saves you the headache).
So the network efficiencies will accrue to legal P2P content, not to downloads from The Pirate Bay ...and they're going to differ between the two how, exactly? (Excuse my ignorance if I'm missing something.)
Why would you be doing any of these things to a computer that needs to be so secure that it's got an encrypted drive? I'm in the mindset that a computer such as that wouldn't be left on and unattended for any reason.
People still leave personal computers on all the time? Well, shiver me timbers, it looks like I've got to go get a replacement for my Sony Walkman Personal Music CD-ROM Player that I just dropped in amazement -- since we're apparently still in the 1990's or so.
Whilst the rights guaranteed by the US constitution are being increasingly ignored by the US government, we're still not quite at the stage where custom officials can indefinitely detain an individual without evidence. No, but I'm sure they can hand you over to someone who can.
Well, my friend, that's just fucking amazing. It's a manual-shift, right? I drive an 89 4-banger myself with the older 2.3 (not the more advanced one like in '93), that doesn't even have an overdrive on its automatic transmission (it's broke), and even sitting at 3500 RPM at 65MPH I get about 27 mpg, so I always knew these cars were capable of some impressive gas mileage. Your personal experience of getting 35mpg is about at the top limit of what I'd think capable, but it's definitely within reason.
Seriously, though -- do you coast down _every_ hill?:P
...this could potentially be the most boring video game every created by the hand of man, killing the public perception of space flight even more so than it already is. Please spend some time getting it right, guys.

Apparently, these are some sort of "fancy" PDF's that can only be opened using Acrobat!
Seriously, though, just say they "can be displayed" not "can only be displayed" -- you think they could at least get that right.
Please oh please tell me what year of 4-banger mustang you got 35 mpg in, because I'm having a bit of trouble believing it. And please tell me how much in the way of mods you did to get that, if true.;)
...on big iron. Then I graduated and got a job in web design. (A real job, not "making websites for people I know.")
So, I guess... uh... keep your options open?
Aye, you make a lot of sense, but I'm just getting big "Netscape v. IE vibes," here. It's like the same scenario all over again -- Microsoft pushes out what they want for free, and all of a sudden it's the new standard, everything else be damned.

Precisely the reason why you'll never find an Xbox 360 in my house, barring one that's given freely to me, or one that my spouse requests.
Kinda in the same vein as this: http://xkcd.com/129/
...when I "rent" features in my personal OS, running on my own personal computer. Fark off, Microsoft, seriously.
...well, you know how the rest goes.
Boys have a penis; girls have a vagina.
I need it to not run like crap.
Please -- don't give them any ideas.
Welcome to the American mindset.

...there we go. I suppose "quadrantONE.com" will do. Strangely enough, when you go to the site, it doesn't give you a tracking cookie. (Yet.)
This election is going to be so screwed-up looking that it's not even funny -- not to mention the fact that we're screwed no matter who wins. /dies

So... let's be realistic, how long before everyone's using this instead of Flash? My dib's on three years.
