    The pattern repeats itself yet again.

    Problem -> Reaction -> Solution

    Sometimes the "Problems" are real, other times they are found and blown out of proportion, and sometimes they are flat out generated. However, the solution is always the same.

    More government.

    I literally lol'ed at this. You need to turn off the TV and head out to the skeet range. You will find women and children shooting these shotguns which you claim will dislocate shoulders.

    While bone / joint damage can occur from shooting it usually happens with very large loads and poorly designed or lightweight rifles. Poor technique can also contribute.

    Select fire is not really practical or useful in our situation. For one, it consumes an enormous amount of ammunition in a short period of time. Two, it is typically used as suppressive fire. We are not likely to have enough supplies or men to fully utilize a suppression tactic, we would be far more effective in using sniper or target of opportunity tactics.

    Handguns are only to be used to fight your way back to the rifle you shouldn't have left behind. Better than nothing but should not be someones primary weapon.

    I can say with confidence I would be able to inflict far greater casualties with a .308 than say a M249 or M4.

    If the USA were invaded by ground tomorrow I would estimate the breakdown as follows:

    50% would do nothing (submit or be killed due to inaction or being incapable of defending themselves)

    15% would take up arms and fight (of these I think there is a significant group who would "bug-out" and bunker down somewhere)

    35% would wait to see what others are doing and fall into one of the other groups depending on the situation

    Public education in the US is not about education, the objective is to teach submission and to act as expected in your chosen profession.

    Personally, I quit and got my GED after grade 10. Sure they offered "honors" classes, but these classes really just required more homework and were graded to a higher standard (read, no one gets an A). My choice was to work my ass off to make a B, take "regular" classes and make a A+ or quit and wash dishes, cook food and make some money.
