    I think most of the spam targeted at a message ID comes from crawling USENET.

    I've had hundreds of spam attempts at my message IDs from Usenet postings, I get more delivery attempts to message IDs than to my real email address I post with.

    I had Spam Assassin get it's first false positive ever, last week. It was an email from Microsoft.

    I have half a dozen email addresses that have never received spam as well.

    The trick is to never give your the email address to anyone, post with your email address on /. and see what happens.

    The United States did not invent the internet.

    I didn't think it was that unclear. The Internet has been built by the millions of people who use it. It is typical American arrogance (no offence intended)to assume that America invented "the Internet"

    Youtube automatically pull anything that gets flagged or questioned, I don't know why people use it to host anything that could cause even the remotest of complaints.

    That's why we need more end2end encryption to become standard.

    The Wire can never be replaced with wireless communication. Wireless can't transport large amounts of data but cables can.

    "Time is money" is an accurate statement; these people spent a lot of time and energy making this software. They charge an acceptable rate for their service, which is just the same as charging for a physical item. Without monetary motivation, we would not have these services. you are stealing that service, plain and simple! YOU ARE TAKING SOMETHING THEY MADE AND NOT PAYING FOR IT. THAT IS AT THE EXPENSE OF THEIR TIME AND MONEY. (emphasis added)

    I have always aid people for there work, but we negotiate the contract before work commences if they are not working for me then it is not stealing because they are either producing it for free, or have their contract with someone else.

    Secondly, you cannot steal data that has been released to the public, this includes Music, Movie's and Most Software.

    I keep a blacklist on my router, if the ad makes a noise messes with my browser or does something I consider malicious the ad network is blocked by my router perminantly.

    Sorry webmasters but you'll need to find a non malicious source of revenue. I don't normally like to block ads and deprive sites of revenue, but sometimes I don't have a choice.

    Pretty greedy of the author to automatically expect people to pay him/her. How about I create something and expect you to pay for it.

    If they want me to pay them for work then the price is negotiated before they start, I'm not going to just pay someone on their command.

    Please explain the harm in using something that someone has created? Considering the Author doesn't even lose any bandwidth since the file is shared via bit-torrent they have lost nothing by people taking it.

    why should I compensate the creator? what for exactly.

    I do buy software sometimes but if I choose not to donate or buy that's my choice.

    If a COMPANY is being prosecuted criminally, you obviously cannot have jail time, because it's a non-person.
