    This type of throttling seems like it could be a real problem for Video On Demand applications, since suddenly slowing down your connection when you're streaming video could result in some pretty lousy viewing experiences. Since Comcast itself seems like one of the companies poised to go into Video On Demand in a big way, this strategy seems like shooting themselves in the foot. Sure, they could have it throttle only if it's not Comcast's VOD,

    Ive gotten into people's myspace accounts because they have used "temporary" email accounts that dont need a password.

    people are going on the grounds that they will be betrayed by the person they give the password to, that isn't always the case. How do you know that persons computer is secure?

    I have no sympathy for companies who outsource office applications. What the hell do they expect to happen?

    Not only can your local machine go down, but you ISP could go down, Google went down.

    If world processing and spreadsheets where important they would use a local set-up.

    I distribute far more than I download, I agree the increased sales the RIAA receive from file sharers has probably given them allot more money to buy laws with.

    I just cannot get a grip of the "blank media tax" what does the recording industry do with CDs?!?!

    I can remember the last time I saw music on a CD, my CDs are...

    While typing this is has occurred to me I have never used the cd try on this computer, which ive had since October, and the tray on my desktop has WinXP SP1 from however many years ago that was.

    CDs have nothing to do with music, they just happen to have that ability. My Computer can be used to commit fraud maybe we should all pay fraud victims compensation.

    The RIAA do not own the internet, why should I pay for something Im not using. If I put non RIAA music over the radio Im not going to pay the RIAA for something that is not theirs.

    Perhaps, but we, as consumers, keep handing money over to the entities that are responsible for this madness. Keep these entities in check, and these kinds of problems will be much less pervasive.

    Its the law to pay Taxes, In the united states I have to pay the recording industry for a blank CD.

    If the RIAA don't like you is there anything to stop them pulling you into court out of spite?
      For me going to court is a sentence before trial, because I can't pay the mortgage by taking time off work.

    It's obvious that a spam source was simply shut down. People may not believe this but ISPs do disconnect people for spamming.

    try running a catch-all mailbox. I did just out of interest and you have no idea how bad the backscatter problem is until you can receive for any possible address.

    As far as I'm concerned it's spam. So are those "I'm currently away from my office" auto responders.
