Then that ISP shouldn't be selling 1 Mbps 'unlimited' connections to 1000+ customers and then complain when people actually *use* the bandwith *they are paying for*. That's false advertising. Thats actually fraud.

A customer pays for a service and the ISP takes payment but dosent deliver.

There is nothing wrong with overselling provided your customer can use what you sell them!

If everyone made a phone call at the sametime the phone network couldent handle it because they oversell the service to produce cheaper rates but I have NEVER had a problem making a phonecall because my service provider has carefully planned things out to make sure this dosent happen.

Overselling makes sense provided its dont intelligently so that the user can use what they pay for.

You can also be prosecuted if being on the phone affects your driving even if you are using a headset.

Oh, and you're right with 'stealing is easy'. If I could get (and pay for) TV shows I like in a legal way, I'd do that.. but I can't.. how is it my fault for picking the ONLY option available to me (other than not watching it?). There is nothing morally wrong with that,
The studio isnt losing a tangable object nor is their credit being stolen (unless you show it to someone and try to pass it as your own) and they arnt giving you the option to buy content they release for public viewing so I fail to see how it could be considered stealing.

Taking a tangable object is stealing because someone loses something.
Plagerism is stealing because someone missed out on credit and recognition for their work.
Hacking someones computer and taking files is stealing because the content wasnt intended for public release.

But downloading content thats eleased to the public? How could that ever be considered stealing? Only if your selling it because you could damage the studio's name by selling inferior product or if they are selling it themselfs your taking potential profit from them.

I personally am not prepared to spend $20-$30 on a TV season that has been released for free on tv I will download it and watch it from my computer since I wasnt going to pay for it and Im not using the Studios bandwith to download they have lost NOTHING in me obtaining my copy.

I am paying to use the road for my own personal use.

Do you see the difference? Probably not.

394,000 large trucks were involved in crashes in 1999. 5,203 people died and 127,000 were injured. The economic damage of the accidents was a staggering $150 billion, just in 1999. Let's put that into perspective: Hurricane Katrina did only $81 billion. That does not prove in anyway that trucks cause accidents. I see dozens of people everyweek who fuck around with trucks by cutting in front or pulling out to early. I personally have NEVER had any problem with any of the hundreds of trucks I encounter on the roads each week and living/working between the port and the major commercial district means there is almost never a truck out of sight at anyone time. I feel sorry for the truck drivers who have to deal with idiots like you on the road everyday and then get the blame when they drive over the top of you because you were stupid enuth to change lanes at the lights without giving any thought to the 50tonne truck pulling up just 100meters away.

You not only want the American public to pay for your entertainment, pay *huge amounts of money* for your entertainment, but you want to keep us in a system that injures half a million people a year, kills several tens of thousands per year, and does almost twice the economic damage as Hurricane Katrina each year. For your entertainment. Pardon me if I'm a wee bit hostile to the notion. American?! I'm in Australia how is it any of Americas business if I use Australian roads payed for by myself and all other road users. Your automatic assumption that everyone is in America shows your extreme level of ignorance.

The people who cause most accidents arnt truck drivers, taxis or couriers.

Its the person driving to the shops for their weekly shopping or picking their kids of from school that pull out in front of other vehicles on the highway or stall at the lights. These people often spend less than 20hours a week on the road and dont drive outside of their local area and so are inexpirienced road users.
