    I don't think KDE4 is overblown except in one respect. If you could just can that imbecilic desktop and replace it with a single simple folder view like in KDE3 and Gnome2, where you can put launchers and objects, KDE4 is basically perfect.

    Right-Click the desktop, select "Desktop Settings", and under the "Layout" combobox, select "Folder View".

    It seems that nobody knows the difference between hacking and cracking. Hacking is doing stuff for a good purpose (eg. programming), and cracking is doing for a bad purpose (eg. breaking into slashdot to increase your karma).

    Finally, there are words that it seems impossible that they could ever distinguish. For example, 'man' vs. 'woman,' would be incredibly complicated for anything but a human. That makes it useless for pr0n searching; every time you searched for "naked woman", you would end up with goaste.

    If you're right, then everyone else is wrong about the Memory leaks; they're probably saying how much was left with 1GB of RAM.

    Yes, It is normal for a laptop to have over 1GB of Virtual Memory, because you can have lots of swapspace (my laptop has ~2GB of swapspace with 768MB of physical memory).

    They could decrease the time even more: just put the fibre plugs on the two machines side-by-side with a 1nm fibre cable connecting them (and overclock the comps to 50THz). That's talking MUCH faster. (Disclaimer: 50THz is Beyond recommended OC freq.)
