I don't think KDE4 is overblown except in one respect. If you could just can that imbecilic desktop and replace it with a single simple folder view like in KDE3 and Gnome2, where you can put launchers and objects, KDE4 is basically perfect.
Right-Click the desktop, select "Desktop Settings", and under the "Layout" combobox, select "Folder View".
It seems that nobody knows the difference between hacking and cracking. Hacking is doing stuff for a good purpose (eg. programming), and cracking is doing for a bad purpose (eg. breaking into slashdot to increase your karma).
Finally, there are words that it seems impossible that they could ever distinguish. For example, 'man' vs. 'woman,' would be incredibly complicated for anything but a human. That makes it useless for pr0n searching; every time you searched for "naked woman", you would end up with goaste.
If you're right, then everyone else is wrong about the Memory leaks; they're probably saying how much was left with 1GB of RAM.
Yes, It is normal for a laptop to have over 1GB of Virtual Memory, because you can have lots of swapspace (my laptop has ~2GB of swapspace with 768MB of physical memory).
In a study of 2,600 Americans polled via telephone and online, Digital Life America, a unit of Solutions Research Group, found that 32 million Americans had downloaded a movie at some point in the past.
I mean, unless they hook the DVD player up to a computer instead of a TV and record it. Man, I hope they thought of that! I'd hate to think hollywood was making less money. nah, just send a few images to the DeCSS guys so they can reverse engineer the SSSDVDCSS (Super Secret Special Digital Video Disk Content Scrambling System). The MPAA will try to ban the resulting DeSSSCSS code, but will make a typo and add/remove an 'S'.
Microsoft is allowed to act in the way it does because we are not a socialistic hell like the rest of the world. No, more like:
Microsoft is allowed to act in the way it does because it is a big corporation which can provide fat bribes to your country's idiot government.
They could decrease the time even more: just put the fibre plugs on the two machines side-by-side with a 1nm fibre cable connecting them (and overclock the comps to 50THz). That's talking MUCH faster.
(Disclaimer: 50THz is Beyond recommended OC freq.)
You forgot: #12: People who don't know how to punctuate or write proper English and write in a hard to read, font and think a sentence is a group of words that starts with a word has words in, between and, think its ok to go off topic, like this and put, commas, in the wrong places and ramble on and, suddenly your bandwidth, because you have dialup is suddenly used up suddenly, or when you have a seizure reading, this, and when you get to the article the thirty megabyte, ad loads faster than the text, like that time when the text you wrote, was so messed up that, it killed the CPU.
