And the computer had a lot of processing that can handle a lot of people for such simple tasks. And computers were expensive heck it was a few thousand bucks for a VT terminal.

1990s More graphic intensive programs are coming out, Color Displays, Serial didn't cut it, way to slow. Cheaper hardware made it possible for people to have individual computers and networks were mostly for file sharing. So you are better off processing locally and allowed more load per demmand

2000s Now people have high speed networks across wide distances Security and stability issues begin to happen so it is better to have your data and a lot of the processing done in one spot. So we go back to the thin client and server where the client actually still does a lot of work but the server does too to give us the correct data.

I can take the Document Icon that is in the Title Bar and Drag it into my email App and it automatically attaches it. It is quite handy and much easier then Hunting down your Documents folder.

There are a lot of details like this that Linux is missing that are not necessary bugs or Missing Features per say but just a different way of doing things, that tend to get poo-pooed as Eye Candy, A big wast of time, and only Wimps use WIMP.

There is a Gap for skill sets for Linux. Between Grandma and Administrator that creates the problems for people and when they use Linux they feel like they are 10 years in the past.

The new ones when they try to put more effects have became more like Fighter Planes in close combat where it is basically if you shoot more you win, everything is going on so fast there is no drama, just action.

Also with man to man fighting. The old Star Trek hand to hand was because either they were caught so off guard that they didn't have phasers, or they were not trying to kill the guy, or they were captured and lost their phasers. However with todays effect it is way to easy to kill a guy with a phaser. Have you ever used a laser pointer and found how easy it was to hit a target. Just as long as they stay with the roots of science and without pointing to a religious text and say because it is in there. We haven't found a way to Prove or Disprove G/god(s) so as for science we need to look at natural causes not supernatural ones. So if you believe in God then it is the question on How did he do it by playing with the own rules he created. Or if you don't then it how is it. Having faith doesn't stop from good science, pointing to God as the answer and stop all further investigation is bad science.

Granted Evolution is the strongest theory with the most proof however it could be wrong there is always a possibility. Life could have diversified from cross breading, or large mutations, then there is the Alien Arch theory where Aliens populate earth with genetically created animals, their similarity is due to the incremental approach they put into their creation. Education without Experience you don't know when it is better to break the rules. Sometimes you need to say TO HELL with good form, this way runs faster and is easier to change. Real IT Pros don't have anything to prove, they know their stuff, not afraid to ask questions to learn new things, don't get emotionally attached to their code when it is time to hand it off to someone else. Even people with Education & Experience are not always IT Pros but still hacks too, there is a lot of growing up and maturing you need to do before you can be a real Pro. Getting a Masters in the same degree will not help you out professionally, yes you may learn some cool stuff, and if you want a masters purely for education not for work advancement thats great, but for the most parts it will not help you much in business unless you are looking for R&D type work, or something that focuses on you area of study. However other see education as a means to a better job, which is also a good use of education, the MBA is often the best route, having an MBA doesn't mean you a not technical or have no tech skill however it does mean you have knowledge of business so the bigger bosses will come to you to work out the big picture, as you can understand their business needs and translate it to a technical requirement.

However not all MBA's have the technical background and are still in such a position, and knowing the technology helps and hurts at the same time. It helps as you can really translate the problem to a technical solution, it may hurt as the big picture gets clouded with the technical details. So some companies love getting a strong Tech MBA others, like a low Tech MBA.

Real business is actually a lot more complex then most guys in the tech field think. There are a lot of opposing forces going on that needs to be balanced. For example selling more widget X is considered good as you can get more money. However if you sell to much you will need to open an other plant to make more, the plant costs money and could take years for production levels to utilize the plant profitability.

A lot of this "Sharpness" that the younger people have is partly due to the fact that they are bluffing to make themselves look better, IT Chest Thumping, so the difference in sharpness is actually a little more narrow for the change in ages.
