Sure, lets just take all the guns away from the public and concentrate gun ownership in the hands of government and law enforcement. I'm sure those guns are the safest in the hands of the demonstrably most psychopathic segments of our society.

I'm certain that those lacking empathy while displaying extreme violent tendencies are the best people in the world to have a complete monopoly on force.

Logic and reason are the foundation of all debates. Unfortunately the gun grabbers are so terrified by the mere thought of a gun that they are incapable of rational thought. They believe that their feelings are reality and cherry-pick biased studies to support their false claims. They also make gigantic leaps of logic to come to their conclusions while ignoring any evidence against their beliefs.

  3. I disagree with one thing. Cosmology is not at risk of becoming as dogmatic as religions, it has been at least that dogmatic for many decades.

  4. Nope, it was dismissed out of hand. There was never any kind of test done to discredit it, the scientists simply said it couldn't possibly be and refused to even entertain the idea.

  8. That is only because Apple and Google do not have an "S" in the name that can be easily swapped out for a "$" to symbolize our distrust for them. Don't worry, we'll come up with something for them too.

Have you not opened your damn eyes in the last several decades? Wether or not the government has the authority to do something or not doesn't mean a damn thing, they do what they want anyway. This is especially true when large amounts of money are involved, and Apple has shit-loads of money to throw at easily bought members of our government, which this group entails the majority of our government.

  12. I propose that we use that same logic for your reproduction. Since bringing more stupid people into the world is bad for everyone else the AI would sterilize you and make it impossible for you to ever have sex again as well so that you would not be able to spread STD's that way. It's only logical, using your logic.

It's perfectly legal for 13 year olds to be in a romantic relationship, they just can't marry or have sex.

In the vast majority of the world, including most US states, it is perfectly legal for a 13 year old to have sex. There are limitations on who can have sex with them though.
Also, with parental permission, it is legal for an underage person to get married, though I'm not sure what the age limit on that is. I know because one of the girls I went to high school with was married with a child when she was 14 or 15.

They have the same type of equipment here in the US, they just rarely use it. As you said, having utility access in the roads prevents them from using such, but they also rarely use such on highways which do not have such. I have seen a crew of 15-20 people completely resurface miles of road in a single night, but for some reason the majority of paving happens during the day and takes weeks to months with more people on the job.
I'm not sure why this is, but I highly suspect long term exclusive contracts and massive corruption are to blame.

  25. You are misinterpreting what I am saying.
I am talking about legal consequences, not civil. If Alice was driving she still has to pay any ticket associated with the accident and is subject to any criminal charges associated with it. In the land of civil lawsuits pretty much anything goes.

Let me give you a narrative to explain it to you. Alice is driving down the road at 100mph down a city street with a speed limit of 25mph. Ahead in the distance she sees a traffic jam spanning the entire road. when Alice goes to hit the brake to slow down, which there was plenty of time to do in this scenario, the brake pedal goes to the floor and doesn't slow her down. There is nowhere to go where she will not hit another vehicle and not enough distance for the emergency brake to stop her. Alice then plows into one of the cars killing one of the passengers, but somehow surviving herself.
Here Alice was clearly guilty of reckless driving and is liable for the death of the passenger killed in the accident. This accident would not have happened if the brakes were not defective, but that does not matter, the driver is liable for that death, not the manufacturer. The survivors can sue the manufacturer for damages, but only Alice can be charged with a crime. She may go to jail for manslaughter, not anybody at the manufacturer.
