You forgot about Lithium in the batteries. That shit, while it can be used as medicine in very small doses, is highly toxic. Even the very low doses used to treat patients will destroy the body over time.

Man, don't be promoting things like taking lifetime emissions into account! Then we would have to actually take a look at just how much pollution is involved in the production of batteries, and then we would have to just scrap the whole idea of electric vehicles until we found a better way of making batteries!

The difference is that neutrinos can be detected and we had an actual, measurable, difference in mass for elements' atomic structure which needed to be explained. With dark matter and dark energy all their measurements are based on several layers of unproven assumptions, and when the calculations did not come out like they wanted they came up with a magic solution, dark matter, to make the equation balance.

Everything short of raising salaries and:
    - Treating them like human beings
    - Giving any type of incentives like male only scholarships (like the female only ones being handed out left and right in engineering)
    - Not throwing them under the bus the moment they are accused of anything
    - - This one is the most important. It is extremely common for young girls to accuse their male teachers of abuse for social or monetary gain. So common, in fact, that it is the primary reason very few men enter or stay in teaching. It is far to high of a liability.

I would put spinach in that category too. In the early 1900's they found out that it had a lot of iron in it so the government started pushing it. Later on they found out that it also has a protein in it that prevents your body from absorbing that iron, and worse other iron that was eaten with it. The sad thing is that it is still promoted as a rich source of iron giving it the label of a health food when it really isn't.

Just imagine how much more efficient it would be with a high efficiency turbine instead of the pistons. It would also greatly reduce the complexity and maintenance required. Then add some extreme thermal insulation to reduce heat loss. Beyond that, a little automation could make as easy to control as a normal car. To give it a wider range of power you could also give it a transmission. I would go with a CVT style, but more beefy than whats on the market. That way you could have an extremely powerful low end while being able achieve very high speeds.
