Freedom of the press is outlined separately in the first amendment from freedom of speech. Maybe there was a reason for that. Wouldn't freedom of speech alone be sufficient if all corporations (news papers included) had the same freedom of speech as other citizens?
There is no way that talking is as distracting as using at least one of your hands and looking at your lap. I am not one of those people who say that talking on the phone isnt a distraction (and text to speech for a text message shouldnt be worse than a phone call) but actually operating a device, and looking at that device instead of the road simply has to be worse than just thinking about the message and saying the words.
If nothing else the time it takes for you to move your hands up to the wheel or the time lost when you werent looking at the road is going to have a huge impact on your reaction time, even if its just on top of the lag caused by concentrating on something other than the road.
How are these sites selling pirated software? Are people giving them their credit card number? I cant imagine trusting someone who is already distributing pirated software with my credit card.
yea, but you can do some pretty nifty things with objective C when you design your app for it from the ground up. And when your app is a brand new tool (no legacy code) why not do it.
Of course if you happen to have a legacy library or engine that is in C++ and useful for your application there is nothing stopping you from using it.
I find the whole graphics card requirements to be pretty confusing, maybe its just because im not a hard core gamer and I don't really have any reason to keep up on what card is rendering the most polygons on a day to day basis.
In this case it says "ATI HD2600 XT or better, 256 MB nVidia 7900 GS or better" but I have no idea where those cards sit in the hierarchy of graphics cards. How can I easily find out if my laptops nVidia GeForce 8600M GT good enough or not. It has a higher number, but somehow I doubt that is a reliable indicator.
Its a bit of an annoying problem in video card specifications.
And at the same time, without dev's there would be nothing at all for sales to do. No product, no sales, no sales, no income.
I have no idea how companies manage to get by with so much of the "us vs them" mentality. But then I have no idea how development groups get by with the "us vs them" mentality they usually have between the developers and the QA department.
Not exile. He isn't an American. He has simply been told that he is not welcome on American soil. This is a right that any sovereign nation has and they don't have to give a reason. You can have your access to another country denied simply because the guy at immigration didn't like the way you looked at him.
My company cant find competent C++ developers to develop desktop applications. I don't think their requirements are totally out of line since I was hired in the last 6 months. We would like our develpers to understand inheritance and const and some basics of polymorphism. We develop on windows, linux and the mac and proficiency in any one of those goes a long way.
The pay here is reasonable though not overwhelmingly awesome it is certainly in line with the area.
We have managed to find one good hire since I have been here. We have several more openings to fill and should be hiring something like 4-6 developers in the next year and a half. I'm sure there are a lot of smart people out there looking for work, but we seem to be having a hard time getting them. In part I blame HR since we aren't getting that many resumes passed onto us in the first place, but if the economy is so bad, where are the people hammering on our door?
It did take me 6 months to find this job. I did have other prospects on the line that didn't pan out, but this was certainly easier then back in 2002-2003.
Hulu works pretty well on the mac, I have no idea what the people there did to make video run more smoothly but they are the exception, no the rule. Youtube, which is generally operating at fairly low resolutions, doesn't work very well at all.
Your right, apparently its possible to write a flash app that will work well on the mac, but there are tons of flash apps that work reasonably well on windows and terribly on the mac.
I have seen flash games that hang up or stutter on the mac that run perfectly on windows. That tells me that something is likely wrong with the implementation of Flash on the mac.
Since I started using flashblock for everything I have noticed a considerable decrease in the number of browser crashes in firefox, unless I decide to open up a bunch of windows with flash games or videos, but I try not to keep those open after I am done with them.
At least casual flash use for advertising doesn't kill my browser anymore, plus I don't have to deal with the distraction it creates.
this was over WiFi, bandwidth was not the problem.
Anyone familiar with watching flash video on a non-windows platform should not be surprised by this. The Flash implementation on the mac is so bad that it cant play simple videos while buffering without a stutter, even the video has many minutes worth of advanced buffer. You have to let a video buffer pretty much completely to get even decent performance out of most flash video.
A friend of mine came up with a name for the group of people who drive in these kinds of passively inconsiderate ways, impeding everyone's forward progress.
When, in 5 years, the only video and game platform available on the web is still this shitty ass flash crap you can get back to me about how much choice you have.
are you sure its not actually Apples iPod connector? it looks extremely similar.
I cant imagine Apple licensing that out for other devices, though it would be nice if the majority of mobile devices worked with the huge number of iPod/iPhone/iPad peripherals there are on the market.
Adderal is just dex, rittalin and I believe another stimulant mixed together. You can get a generic version of it.
Welbutrin is "preferred" but not because it is clinically superior. It is preferred for political reasons. People shop for stimulants to abuse or sell which is unfortunate for those of us that need them.
If Welbutrin is working for you, by all means stick with it, but one thing you will find with stimulants is that you can try them for a short time to see if they work. They don't have the ramp up times that anti-depressants do. They are effective with the first dose.

No, Ive been to that party and it was nothing like Vegas.
And not the least bit distracting either!

Licensed actually, but don't let the facts get in the way of your indignation.

A month of food won't do you much good if you can't get back and forth to a job to raise more money to buy more food.
It much of the US there is no way to hold down a job without reliable transportation.
Ah well, if its good enough in Europe than it must be fine everywhere.
What a Euro centric attitude you are sporting.
Ive heard that somewhere before

It's all fun and games until it happens to you

I had no idea apple made an entirely separate internet just for the iPhone. Quite and impressive accomplishment.

HA! I knew he wasn't clever enough to have come up with that on his own.

Damnit man, read the article
"This is not just another tablet. We call it a Smart Media device,"
Oh, wait, your right, its just another tablet.
I hear Jeffrey Morris once watched The Adventures of Pluto Nash all the way through and enjoyed it.
Too far man... too far.
