Where I'm from the drivers ed class is held at the school and I think organized by the school but it is a private company and you have to pay for the lessons. It is also held after hours (with driving time usually right after classes end). Of course here, drivers ed is not required to get your license, you simply have to pass the test. Drivers ed allows you to take the test 6 months earlier than if you didn't take the course and it gives a small benefit on your insurance as well.
I'm sure it varies a lot from state to state and possibly even from district to district. I would be interested to hear how its handled in other countries.
Actually its not weird that everyone is freaked out all the time. Everyone thinks they live in weird times. Everyone thinks that kids these days are bad and dumb and don't respect their elders. And that modern music is so much worse than what we listened to when I was a kid.
People think this, people have always thought this. Nothing much really changes.
I haven't even read the whole policy but I do know that the jeans I wear every day are in violation.
I think most of the people in this division don't even know about the policy, but they do manage to dress in a way that doesn't interrupt business, bra or no. Though Hawaiian shirt Friday is pretty terrible.
My company has a policy that states you may not have visible underwear. You are also not allowed to have a visible lack of underwear (which is, admittedly a little more confusing)
Corporations do all kinds of things. Some of them are not enforceable but these policies certainly are. Luckily my division doesn't really give a rats ass about the corporate rules.
Grow up. Travel some. Learn that numbers mean things.
From your grand parent post: His 6 month moratorium was overreaching and a cynical first installment for the anti-civilization, anti-prosperity "Cap-and-Tax" legislation being greased up to force down our throat like Obama's "Early Death Care".
Seriously dude? You lost the right to tell someone else to grow up and stop exaggerating when you wrote that pile of bullshit. Cut the crap.
So who does have the authority to make a decision like this in a time of crisis? Or is this just one of those things that would take a year or 2 to pass and would never actually get anywhere.
It seems like someone should. Doesn't the president have a rather large amount of power via executive order? Isn't this the kind of thing that an executive order is used for?
He didn't give it to people, he put it in escrow. You can argue that this is still wrong, but at least accuse him of what he actually did. He didn't just hand out a bunch of money to whomever he wanted.
In fact, you might have much more trouble getting those bug fixes on your android phone depending on the level of customization your phone requires and the phone manufacturers willingness to roll up a patch with the latest version of Android.
Of course the original iPhone is in a bit of a bind as well.
I bring in far more money to the company than you ever will.
Way to loose all credibility right there. Your IT staff is what keeps your entire sales force moving. They keep your production on line so you have things to sell, they make sure that you can communicate quickly and efficiently with your suppliers.
IT is central to most every business in this day and age and people who ignore that fact are fools. You like having those 4 phones? You like having email and calls routed to them? Thats IT. You cant have it both ways.
The junkmail filters on the server continue to apply. The complaint is that you cant set up filters on the phone. Kind of silly though since you want the messages filtered out before they are shipped down to the device. Why pay for wireless bandwidth for spam?
I haven't tried the HD yet but I have used the original flip back when it was fairly new. Its a decent piece of work, but I just don't find myself needing a video camera all that often. I would gladly take a modest quality hit to not have to carry a separate device with me.
Its the same reason I'm not big on buying cameras. I have a small cannon digital camera and when I am going on vacation I will bring it with me, but most of the time I don't carry it around on the off chance I will want to take a picture. Having a viable alternative in my phone is a lot more appealing for people who aren't hard core about their pictures.
I don't know, I use googles video chat with my friends from time to time. Particularly with folks I don't get to see that much. It does add a certain something to the conversation. I'm not sure I would use it a lot on a phone (but then I don't see myself using my iPhone from my couch for anything but a phone call), but I think it would be an excellent addition to the iPad.
certainly any time you are displaying a progress bar gathering data from the net for your app (not applicable to all apps of course) that is a pretty reasonable time to display an ad. Especially if that Ad allows you to give your application away rather than sell it.
There is nothing wrong with iAd, some developers will use it poorly im sure, but those that use it well will likely be very successful with it.
Wifi only because AT&T will never allow it. They say they are working with carriers which means outside the US it should be available in no time but inside, you can forget about it.
It is iPhone only, but it sounds like Apple is opening up the protocol for others to use. It would be nice if there was a standard for video calls on phones.
Well, by all means lets make sure our level of discourse is on par with that of 4chan!

competitive with who exactly? Anyone who thinks this problem is limited to America is fooling themselves.
That's pretty much how I read it too.

only when created by apple
If the president is willing to surround the capital with troops and the troops follow his orders then it really doesn't matter what any law says.
The multi-hour line outside the apple store I passed today indicates that you may very well be right.
And no, it wasn't just presales, they had 2 multi-hour long lines, on for presale and one for purchasing.

ecosystem that a ton of people rely upon for jobs.

and when war is outlawed, only the outlaws will have war.
I am no fan of armed conflict and many are undeniably bad, but to suggest that we could eliminate it and have everyone play nice is pretty naive.
I bring in far more money to the company than you ever will.

and nothing of value would be lost.
Isn't that pretty much how it works now?
I don't think you understand. These are very tasty fish.
Quantity != quality
You know, nobody bought that argument when mac users were saying the same thing about PC applications.
