If they'd have stuck with clones for more than 6 months the whole thing would have turned around and MS would have been crushed years ago. Alas, they lack balls. Ah well, here's hoping the plebs will install linux and like it, dammit.

City of Death was awesome, I'm personally partial to the Aldric era myself but if we must include the classics, the Tom Baker + Romana combo was unbeatable. Still, the classics are just that, relics of a bygone era. IIRC Douglas Adams himself had a hand in that script. Of the current generation of authours , Stephen Moffat is supreme overlord.

Leaving aside all of the apocalyptic musings, there may be a significance to the date. It appears that the date (December 21, 2012) coincides with a conjunction of the Winter solstice sun and the crossing point of the galactic equator and the ecliptic. This occurs every 13,000 years (of the longer 26,000 year long 'Platonic Year').

So, it may be a mile marker, but it isn't the end of the universe. It just happened to be when the Mayans decided to 'turn over' their long count calendar back to 0.

I will not vouch for the accuracy of this information or of the sites below. I have glanced at them and it makes sense on the surface (leaving out all of the mumbo jumbo).

Well, I would say that in the right context the word 'One' could be included in the catch-all intellectual property phrase. There is a phone company here in Australia called 'Three'. Their logo is the numeral 3. I don't doubt they would try to protect that brand through courts if somebody used 'Three' in a context that would conflict with their brand. This is all to blame on the fact that phrases are like memes from the ether, or in other words language is like a virus from outer space. Therefore this 'intellectual property' stuff is nonsense until metaphysics formulates a quantifiable aether matrix.

So fucking what. The 'criminal' downloaded 20-odd songs that were shared by default on her software. All she gained was 20-odd tracks, she never intended to be a distributor. She should be fined $30 or so, if they want to prosecute those who shared her tracks let them do so. As it stands, the fine in no way represents the crime. She was never in danger of earning 220,000 dollars by downloading a couple dozen tracks into her shared folder. The punishment in no way fits the crime here. While she did wrong, it wasn't any deliberate wrong, no more than me donating a CD to the local library or lending a CD to a friend.

One day, we'll see the light. Until then, at least the corporate oppression has marketing values.
