*MY* tuition shouldn't help pay for the university's swimming pool because *I* don't swim.
But anyone has that choice. A student can go swim anytime he or she may please. On the other hand, non-Windows users are unable to take advantage of the service. And the same goes for your "new wing" argument. Just because a student isn't a computer science major, doesn't mean they can't use that purty new wing.
Because it's a university, not a music download website. If they plan to improve the environment on campus they have to do that for EVERYONE, not just the people that fit a certain status quo. ESPECIALLY since the fee for the Napster downloading is including in the ability to use the school network (read the article). Why should a mac or linux user have to pay extra for something they can't utilize simply because they have the "wrong" OS.
That was actuallty the effect that used to be produced on Google. I tried it about a month or so ago and the first result was simply the Microsoft website. I wonder why that changed.
"Lastly, if you use Apple's music store along with iTunes, you don't have the ability of using the over 40 different Windows Media-compatible portable music devices. When I'm paying for music, I want to know that I have choices today and in the future," he said.
Well if you had the read the article (which is commonly the point of news being posted on slash) you would've found that link. And the fact that parent was modded up 5 kind of makes me wonder how many people actually do read the articles.
Related, the 30-second browsing is often not enough for me.
You should be used tro that. That's the total number of songs Magnatune offers. Just wait till the RIAA start waving money in their face and they sell out their customers.
Does anyone find this incredibly stupid? The US wants to keep space PEACEFUL. What the hell does that mean? It's not space is being overrun by some terrible dictator and we need to "step in" to "set things right" since that's what the US just LOVES to do. The only reason space will ever become a concern is when THE US starts using it for wargames.
Hey, if we can destory Argentina and let hundreds of thousands die of AIDS in Africa, we can certainly take over space (: Go globalization! (now UNIVERSALization)
I've never been much of a hardware person until recently getting an intership doing PC maintaince at a fairly large company. But I used to run the dnetc client on my DP 1.25Ghz G4 using BOTH processors. For a while it ran just fine and I used the computer normally with no problems. But after about week my computer would randomly shutdown/restart/logout and a lot of applications began to lag. I stopped running the client for a while and everything appeared to go back to normal. Now I run it using 1 processor and it has been that way for about 3 months with no problems whatsoever. I haven't been experiencing any new problems or drastic slow-downs since before I ran the client at all, so I'm under the assumption that it didn't cause any long-term damage. But I can say fairly surely that it caused some pretty bad problems when I had it using both procs.
These are benchmarks, 99% of the time they will be unfair/biast. And I've said the same in previous tests where the results were the other way around. There's no point in making a serious issue about it. If you're concerned that much with gaming performance get a gaming console, not a PC.
One parent recalls "I was talking to my neighbor on my cell phone while watching my popcorn in the microwave when I was told of this TERRIBLE thing called WIFI! My poor child is failing classes because of this brain-damaging super ray!"
The difference here is that when Apple updates, the OS I M P R O V E S. That's what MS doesn't seem to get right. Take XP and turn on the "classic" theme and you're right back to 2000. Frankly, I'd rather pay $199 for a faster, more efficient OS, than $299 for a new color theme.
It doesn't do much for Apple because people see the computers and have NO IDEA what they are. I guarentee half the people who see the machines in shows/ads/movies just assume they are running Windows (if they even think about it). And Microsoft needs to -pay- because their hardware isn't as attractive (:
It's made by a person from Fixamac Sofware. They previously released (and still update I believe) Print Center Repair which has been a big help to many mac users. There is also a good deal of praise in comment form at versiontracker.com.
Someone has released a utility to fix the problem until Apple releases the fixed update. The comments on it all seem to say it works well and takes care of things.
Windows is available for free at PSU, yes they can.
And, of course, Windows runs just fine on a PowerPC (:

They will be able to legally get access to quality music in an open format while probably just paying a minute increase in their tuition.
Maybe because the PSU students have been kicked around enough by tuition?

I can't say I'm suprised :P

Looks like a link to me (:

and their iPods can be used to take their entire CD collection on the road with them - not just purchased music from the iTunes Music store.
I very much agree with that. Pretty much all my friends (that are Windows users) seem to think all iTunes is is a music store, and nothing else.

WOW this guy is smart! The old stuff is out, and the new stuff is in! i will have to refer to this article daily to make sure I know what's going on!

You know the second the combustion results would be posted you'd get:
"APPLES DON'T COMBUST AS WELL BECAUSE THE COMBUSTION PROCESS IS X86 OPTIMIZED!"
or
"PC DON'T COMBUST AS WELL BECAUSE THIS STUPID APPLE ZEALOT DID THE COMBUSTION!"

The G5 got beat in Quake3 because macs suck at games.
You mean because Q3 is x86 naitive code that was PORTED to run on mac.
Just look at the title
Athlon 64 vs. Apple G5 Systems: Not Even Close (chart)
I wonder if this was impartial (:
Do I get the idiot user of the day award?
granted (:

Parent should not be modded up as it is two main reasons.
A) Good music to you could be awful music to anyone else.
B) This lable JUST started. I'm sorry they haven't signed thousands of artists in a matter of days.
