Why are we just leaping to the conclusion that it couldn't actually be a DDOS?
Because the FCC being incompetent to deal with IT issues is fodder for conspiracies and part of the current anti-administration dialog, while it being the target of a DDoS isn't.
You want a conspiracy?? Maybe the FCC, now headed by a someone who wants to eliminate net neutrality, DDoS'd ITSELF to prevent any unfavorable comments from being posted at all!
Although insulated by iPhones etc, Apple would still do well to recall what happened to another computer company that ignored what users were *actually* using their computers for. I speak, of course, of Commodore, whose Amiga ruled the video world for a while, even as C= executives pushed low end game machine versions of the Amiga, vainly hoping to repeat the success of the C-64.
One of the biggest problems with wind farms is that peak demand (hot days, little wind) correspond with least output, and vice-versa. Putting one of these water to fuel plants with every wind farm located near water would solve that. Note that jet turbine powered generators are used for peak power demand anyway
( http://www.eia.gov/todayinener... ) so half the needed infrastructure for this is already in place.
OK, so patent a series of sliders, with all the basic geometric shapes plus variations as the slider, and you can prevent ANYONE from ever using a slider again. How broken is that??
Super strong, super thin threads?
Wasn't there a scene in Neuromancer where one of those, extended from a diamond spool worn as a thumb, constituted a deadly weapon?
...It might also be worth noting that Israel, who'd been attacked generally by the Arab states around it in 1948, 1967, and 1973. It has not been openly attacked since.
Well, yes; the wars against Israel all depended on Egypt to carry the brunt of the fighting (and the costs). With Egypt taken out of the line of battle by the peace treaty, no one else had the ability to launch a land war against Israel.
...2. The school budget should focus solely on math, science, the english language (in the USA), history (not 'social studies'), and a life-skills program (minus the political correctness in current health classes)....
Students in any democratic country also need civics, teaching HOW THEIR GOVERNMENT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK. If, for example, idiot voters think the president can unilaterally change things that the constitution explicitly states are solely the juristiction of congress, then blame him for change not happening while ablsoving from blame the congressmen who ARE to blame, all hope of fixing things is lost.
As a Java developer let me just say - God I hate Oracle... Can't we just turn Java over to the Apache project now? They would be far better stewards of the technology. Christ *anybody* would probably be a better steward of it than Oracle.
Everyone keeps misspelling that. Correct spelling is now:

I believe part of the law states that insurance companies must spend a minimum of 80% of premiums on actual health care.
How would the IRS, or whatever body is supposed to police that part of the law, verify what is ACTUALLY being spent on that, versus what the insurance companies are CLAIMING they spend?
If seizing medical records en-masse was their solution, perhaps a better method might be needed. Still, that might be what is going on here.
...Take Mexico, a country with a 100% ban on guns, you can't even one a 22 in that country...are the criminals throwing rocks at each other? Nope they...
Nope, they buy their guns HERE IN THE USA and smuggle them across the border. What do you think that 'Fast & Furious' sting operation was trying to do???
What we have here is multiple cases of an anomoly disappearing when a suspect device is turned off, then reliably reappearing when that device is turned back on. Repeating this in the lab always fails. What is missing in the lab, is the mix of OTHER devices that were likely active at the same time. Could this be a problem of beat frequencies being produced by the suspect device IN COMBINATION with OTHER devices on the aircraft?
According to all the economic models I ever saw, it's exactly as good for the economy to spend $1000 on goods as to invest $1000 in a business (ie, stick the money in a bank account, bond, or stock market). This seems like total crap to me, but professional economists are a lot smarter than me.
Paul Krugman, a Nobel-winning econominist, also thinks that notion is crap, esp when the problem is lack of DEMAND. If there's a sufficient demand for goods / services, money to provide those WILL materialize; conversely, if there is insufficient demand, money will hide in bank accounts / Wall Street casino games / overseas shelters rather than hire employees who aren't needed.
I read that modern US subs use convection cooling for the reactor at lower power settings, to keep noise down. Would this sub be too old for that to be the case?
...While in dry dock, the boats have all kinds of cabling in the way preventing hatches from being closed. Forgot about that in my first post on this topic. So, no, you typically cant just walk up and close the hatch - not that you'd want to.
Back then, I didn't even bother with US sites; instead, I just downloaded PGP from German ftp sites.

Of course this bill would also have the side effect that Trump's entire Twitter timeline would have to be erased.
... in advance.

then THIS happens:
Then this is acceptable, however, a little weird. It would be like combining systemd with a sound service.
... it will be YOUR fault!!
Supreme Court nominations?

Why would anyone hesitate to work in government or the military these days?
Hmmm....
Sequester. ...

Employee is in wrong position, if was able to successfully find / hire / manage a highly competent programmer in China.

The biggest reason Republicans want to destroy the Postal Service is to eliminate the postal union, one of the few large unions left.

It is my understanding that since the sinking of the Guitarro, quick-disconnects for such cables are mandatory:

Close. Modern submarines now use pump-jet propulsion: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virginia_class_submarine

Pursue, as in, the 911 operator hearing Zimmerman being apparently out of breath, and asking 'are you following?', and getting the response 'yes'.
