There's some morality stuff going on here. If you've ever been here you'll know that movies are re-edited and sanitised, swearing is censored and all that. Which is amazingly weird since the females are generally quite hot... This will be mostly political. You can go to prison here for "offending the church" etc.

This is true, but consider that in the company I am currently working in we have an ex-staff member that wasn't that great. In fact, not so great that over a year onward he still appears in our company page as one of the higher ups (at least by title). I've tried to flag it multiple times but LinkedIn support came back with something to the effect of "yeah we get it but every time you say he's not in the company, we tell him to update his details.. ultimately it's user generated however".. the inference is if you get flagged they just ask you to update your profile. Obviously he's choosing to keep this active for what ever reason (or just ignoring it all) - but I think no matter what it looks as if he's associated with the company for anyone who looks at us on LinkedIn. Pretty shit.

We can be cruel to rats in order to learn more about our empathy? That's fine logic but you're not taking it all the way. You're saying they should be held to the same actual standards. Well, when the pod excludes a dolphin - it's because it's not down with the pack. If it gang rapes a dolphin - again, punishment etc. Those are the standards; so actually they already do. You'll also find that warring and taking fems will have biological reasons. That's why rich guy gets hot anorexic girl - most guys would'nt be able to afford to coke/rehab bill :)

The net, if it doesn't lacerate the thing it's caught will stop it from moving, which will kill a fish. It'll also stop the dolphin (and whales, turtles etc) coming back up to the surface to get a nice gulp of what you and I take for granted .. air.. Texting while driving isn't comparable. The comparison would be like in the game called kill all humans or whatever where an alien race comes and decides it's funny to use a ray gun on you that happens to envelope you into some sort of liquid you can't breathe - then you die as you take gulps of it into your lungs.. let's call the liquid sea water.

Actually that's not true. I think the justification at the time, and any slavery, is basically to see the enslaved as sub-human - or at least not as good as what ever "us" is. We fuck all animals.. in my experience most times animals are probably more deserving of "rights" than most people... but the whole thing about slavery is that it's an exploitation of people as a resource. We exploit animals as resources all the time and while we shouldn't do that, the case being put forward is that there's enough human similarity to dolphins that they should be treated accordingly.. Though potentially we should start with the great apes as well, then extend it to other animals. ... guess it means no more dolphin full tuna

Maybe... I routinely have over 50 on 3 computers. I often find I get into a topic and don't have the time to finish it before I'm distracted or move onto the next. On my work PC for example it's easier to open new tabs up if I'm on the phone with a customer and I need to do something for them, we use so many internal systems also that having a few open on the CRM, the helpdesk ticketing, the core system, a few supplementary pages and on the support section isn't uncommon. I find it's easier to keep a window open on the search screen in the core app and remembering by position is easier than having to re-open it (though I do that too as I'm a bit muddled up which hence means more tabs :P) At home I'm at uni so I might be browsing some things like slashdot and get sucked into a topic and end up on wikipedia 3 hours later looking at something entirely different that's caught my eye. Soon it's time to go out, clean the house, take a dump or floss my bear's teeth whatever and so I leave them open so I can return to it. Of course, I tend to think "on the spot" so I'm the type of person who rather than have folders in their emails constantly relies on searching (i.e. i start from scratch as it's easier for my brain to think on the spot than refer to memory). Each to their own .. let's just say the SSD made a huge difference to the time it took for my firefox windows to open .. (I will usually have another browser or two open too, and at work I run 2 actual computers on 3 monitors with a virtual on one .. won't mention remote sessions). Every person I've rented with or worked with always says I'm crazy 'cos of the windows - yet I know where everything is... :P .. What can I say I envy you people with memory :)
