Contrary to popular belief (heh) you cant jsut make up and found your own religion jsut because that what the established religions did. You need money, people, INFLUENCE, to establish a legally recognized religion.

    Voluntarily using a service has nothing to do with human rights. There is no basic human right to blogging. Social networks are PRIVATELY run companies, they can run their network as they see fit. If you choose to participate, i dont see why you cant follow the rules. If you dont like the rules, DONT USE THE FUCKING SERVICE. THre are plenty of places on the interwebs to be private, use them. Its like all these feebs who are now discovering how to talk to each other online but never had the experiences of forums, IRC, ICQ etc etc. so they have no idea how to conduct their business privately. THey want privacy brought to them while they disclose everything.

    If HR is demanding to be let into your personal life, its time to find a new job. And contrary to your statement, an employer CAN fire you for having a blue house with yellow flowers, if they so desire. Peolpe with blue houses are not a protected class in any way shape of form. Stop looking at your employer as your slave master. If they do crazy things you dont like, LEAVE.

    Lets be honest here, soon we wont have desktops like we have had for the last 20. We are right back to the micro, mini and mainframe paradigm, but now the micro-comps will be MIDs (consumption), mini-comps will be dedicated workstations (production), mainframes are the cloud (storage, processing). Linux is never going to be loved by the masses. People love marketing, Linux is pretty much the opposite of sexy marketing.

    Limiting space heaters generally has nothing to do with plug capacity and everything to do with brainless secretaries ( and execs too, lets be honest) leaving them on for the weekend without a second thought. ITs a fire hazard because of the nature of the device and how its used, not because it draws too much power.

    Because DNA is much more then flat impression data like a fingerprint or a photograph. Its your 'source code', and contains all of your inherent medical history. IN the past we have deemed this information extremely private. Private enough to not collect it widely, but only when necessary. An arrest should not constitute necessary.

    DO you think before you post? There is only one store available on one platform. Apple is doing the SAME exact thing that Wal-Mart does, limiting what THEY sell in THEIR store. IF you want porn apps, go to a competitor. The part i really hate about the microsoft monopoly and its mis-perceptions is that now we think ANY successful computer company is now a 'monopoly' and that we need to control them.

    BULLSHIT. Go pick up a macbook air and tell me of ANY other notebook manufacturer that pays as much attention to build quality. Not even my Sony Vaio laptops with tungsten casings in their heyday came close to the fit and finish of an Apple machine. The best word to describe Apple is 'unapologetic'. They refuse to allow 30 years of laptop kludge into their designs, and I agree with them.
