    Actually in a democracy thats EXACTLY what you get. What you meant was in a REPUBLIC, we dont have a yada yada yada. Democracy jsut means one man one vote, it provides no checks against the Strong buying/bullying the Weak's vote.

    You mean like how my Ipad backs up to my computer everytime it syncs?? Calling the iPad a toy shows your level of incompetence, and may be why your users are not communicating with you. An ipad might not be a full computer, but its not purely a toy either.

    THE LAW SAVED YOU. Unions are a construct of LAW. We as a nation ALLOWED the concepts of labor unions to be legal in an effort re-balance power between industry and labor. Unions are meaningless without the backing of law.

    Agree 100%. Does the average person , when looking at google maps on their smartphone really understand the symphony of data that is occurring to make it all possible? Satellite data, traffic data, map data, localization data, etc etc. I LOVE the fact that we measure traffic by using cell phone tower data. Its so brilliant and simple.

    We are doing 'smaller things with them? REALLY???? We are in the process of making it possible to easily and cheaply communicate with ANY OTHER HUMAN on the planet. I think you underestimate the fundamental importance of bringing this power to the human race. Fucking doing smaller shit, you sir are blind. I have a pocket computer that CAN STREAM LIVE VIDEO TO THE WORLD INSTANTLY that I paid a pittance for, and you say that is small? Pocket computers are not intended to replace your desktop, the right tool for the right job etc.

    The same exact thing could be said of most of Edison's inventions. Im not disagreeing with you, i think we use the word inventor too lightly to fulfill the human need to appoint a head figure of something rather then accepting that everyone stands on the shoulders of giants, and have for a very long time.

    ANd I received every one of those scripts AND NOTHING BAD HAPPENED. And even if it did im fully backed up. If you have to run NoScript then you are doing things on a machine you shouldnt be browsing on , arent properly backed up, and are paranoid. NoScript IS NOT worth the hassle when i have to backup my data anyways.

    Fron wikipedia "The dark side of the Moon refers to the lunar hemisphere that is not currently lit by the sun. It is not the same as the far side of the Moon, the side that is permanently turned away from the Earth" Honestly this is a case of not letting my brain engage far enough, dark/far side was the same thing to me. Which I realize now is a silly notion, of course the far side receives light, we just never see it. TO be fair calling the phases the 'dark side of the moon' is a bit odd.

    When my GF suggested I see a chiropractor, the very first thing the doctor did was try to convince me he wasnt a quack. Now mind you I hadnt asked and merely was explaining my issue and he goes on and on about how its a respected field and they have more training then regular doctors. After reviewing the history of chiropractic care I am literally STUNNED that we as society allow you to practice your charade. The foundations of your practice are mired in the supernatural and have no scientific merit. You are as viable as a Phrenologist, sir

    THe biggest problem with AMD is their processor marketing SUCKS. I have NO idea where to begin figuring out what models do what. The Core line is easy as hell to look at the features and know what you are getting. I dont have time to study AMD to figure out what are the current models. I was a HUGE AMD in the past, had K5, K6, Athlons loved them back then. BUt now they are a confusing mess.

    Just picked up a HP 1102w Wireless Laser B&W for $99. Works GREAT with AirPrint, ipad, Linux, OSX, Windows. Instant-on too, I was so happy with it i went out and bought one for the in-laws too.

    In reality, a pilot can easily destroy the plane by virtue of his position. It makes no logical sense to subject them to anything more then identity checks. If we were worried that they might crash the plane we wouldn't allow them to fly.

    I'm jsut gonna ask you this: I'm 37, terrible at math and have never programmed. How do i go about learning to code? I have had a very basic college course introducing programming concepts but ive never been able to get very far. What is a viable, useful language I can learn to program in? I have no illusions of doing it for a living, I just want to be able to program an arduino etc. I have been around computers since Atari made them, but I have never gotten around to program. Any advice?

    some good points. Reminds me of how laughable 'planetary defenses' are in Science Fiction when they load the starships up with mind bending power, enough to move moons and very large asteroids, planet crackers, extinguishing stars etc. How do you defend your planet when a force is altering the gravity well of the solar system itself.
