One reason I would never hope to be rich and in the spot light is stuff like this. Ask Richard Gere how long shit like this can follow you. If it its true it is a pretty personal outting.

Totally off topic, but frankly as an old mac user (1.2 gh G4 iBook) I actually noticed a ton of slowdown going from Tiger to Leopard. Once I upgraded from 768 to 1.5gb that changed. Still I keep wondering where this concept came from. Perhaps the speed improvements were only found on G5's?

I use the term hosed liberally. It rarely causes the Mac not to boot, but can lead to instability ect. I think this happens if some third party SW alters something in the system that the non-combo doesn't have the files to fix/replace. A combo is much more like a fresh install.

Seriously, he says it as if people don't put up with mediocrity in everything already. It me that the massive companies where are always doing "studies" are generally the ones who produce the most trash (McDonals, Coke, MS, Kraft, SAB Miller-Coors, ect). IMHO the ribbon is just a further retardization of the computing experience.

Mod Parent +1 This is certainly true about incremental updates. When you get the choice/ have the bandwidth always go with the combo. Incrementals are quite often trouble. The best rule of thumb is, the older the current install the more likely something will get hosed by going with the small updates.

Except he made a blanket statement about iPhone games sucking, which is false anybody but an anti-Apple fanboy. The iPhone has many shitty games, lots of them, but there are tons of gems as well. Anybody who says any major platform has "no good games" usually that is the time to realize they are loon and not hop on board. Hate the Appstore's restrictive BS all you want but don't think the iPhone, or any other major platform has "no games". That sounds like fanboy FUD. Check sites that review mobile games for instance. There are as many 8's and 9's as you see on the big guys.

On the other hand the rant against the GPL doesn't make much sense and the license you scenario would spawn would be insanely complex if not downright impossible.

The fact that you can deal with people in a friendly way who choose such vocal ignorance is a sure sign of phycological comfort and well being, a fact that should be mentioned considering what you have been through. To come to terms and move on with stuff like this is empowering, and to be willing to talk about it is a service to others. Living a fulfilling life is the biggest victory. I know this based on my own (non-sexual abuse) trauma. Thanks for commenting.
