Living in a "wifi city" (Minneapolis) I would like to comment on our municipal wifi and its utter failure. The signal is simply terrible in 90% of residences despite the massive unsightly box on the telephone poll out the window. Frankly this is thanks to the terrible range of B/G wireless. To get a decent signal we will need better tech like WiMax or some form of 4g. As it stands it is nearly impossible to get signal to everybody who wants it.
In my experience all of the browsers listed render HTML and especially JS far faster than IE8. Who needs battery life when you are able to get things done significantly faster? This is becoming more and more true with new JS engines coming out almost monthly and providing significant performance improvements over older version and IE8.
Ok fair, you called me on it. Excuse this being a quick synopsis. Essentially I was in a situation where the car me and my friends were driving was close to reaching the point where the car inevitable "ran out" of gas. Sadly this was thanks to a poor design in the tank of this '76 Chevy beast. Actually there was almost 3/4ths of a gallon left but in the lower corner. We had in the past, as poor rednecks been in the same situation- every time we had turned to beer or liquor. Too bad us 17 year old dumb asses didn't have the assets this day. As such it became a straw pull and I got selected to be the "New Jersey Pumper"(I remind some folks that having someone pump your gas is bizarre to many of us). The car survived to the pump thankfully, though it was certainly one of the killers of that car. However, one good thing is that I have learned a lot about how to treat teens. Man I was a dumb ass back then.
Thats true, anecdotes never prove a point. But considering I agree, and many people I have spoken do as well, I think he is likely to be right. Not about UFO:AI though- no clue WTF that is.
I ran a car with about 5% piss in the gas tank. Long story, but yeah 5% is nothing to brag about when it comes to fuel additives. When they can use a 15% blend and beat ethanol in efficiency (meaning MPG/KPH) then we will talk. Until then the algae has a long way to go.
Sorry to reply to self, but I think upon further reading that you are referring to a plug-in based extensible app. True Apple wouldn't allow that, but if they were pre-compiled individual binaries released it would be just fine.
I don't see why Apple would ban something like Fring or Last.FM considering both are available in the AppStore right now. Apple is over the top, but they seem follow their own (vague) rules.
I agree with both of you. If I ran Apple there would be an uber compacity touch and a smaller (100gb?) model. Alas I think his Stevieness is not a fan of the bulky, moving parts laden Classic. Just glad to see her live another year at least.
Personally I'm not in the market for a touch, but it is interesting to see the camera rumors didn't pan out. Instead we see it only on the Nano. Another great surprise was the survival of the Classic, my personal favorite of the line-up. Too bad Apple doesn't give it a well needed price cut.
Palm hacked USB vendor code which is against the rules you agree to when you use USB. Apple patched it. It is insane that Apple is painted as the bad guy on this one. They deserve plenty of hate for their BS AppStore rules, and overpriced HW, but fixing an exploit that hacks the USB protocol is not one of them.
Whenever you hear about somebody getting fired for something silly like this it should be pretty clear that the person doing the firing was just waiting for an excuse. Obviously he picked a bad "reason" to fire her.
No it keeps mp3s, WAV, and Apple lossless in their native format.

Oh shit we sent it to an actually scuttling monkey. Our bad. -EA
Have you seen what MS has done with WMP in its various incarnations?
I think this a joke, because we all know marketing people and some $1 food coloring could never create a nice "green bio friendly" photo op.

Yeah because nobody figured out a way to monetize a plug in...
I'm curious whether you have better latency where you use 3G than I. For me Skype over 3G has a significant lag making it almost unusible.
Despite the awful treatment he was exposed to at the time, it is comforting to see him finally recogonized for what he really was.

To be fair though WinXP will be quite dated in 5 years.

Nice job mods. Leave the troll be and mod down the person who called them for what they are. Keep it classy.
Apparently the mods don't have a sense of humor today.
Apparently you have not tried Tiger Woods. It is almost flawless. Motion + is fine it just requires actual skill to use.
Agreed man COD Wii is awesome! Even if it lacks DLC and Zombie-mode.

To clarify I'm not saying TiVo is a troll, but that companies who see their core business die often turn to trolling.
It's not like SCO was set up to collect patents and chase them down. They've had products on the market for years...
