Leftism/Liberalism/ Progressivism is about change and progress. Conservitisim is about maintaining the status quo. I think which sounds better to any invidual is based on whether their wish to change things or have them stay the same.
With all of the peripheral electronics involved I only hope that they are smart enough to separate this from the safety functions of the car. If the MS OS crashes and the airbags fail or the car becomes unresponsive this could be a real tragedy. Ford + MS is hardly the kind of combo I would be willing to trust.
I think Vista is more of the ugly little sister always trying to immitate the far hotter older sister (OS X). Sure she might be cute, but you've already gotten better.
How do you think developers decide which consoles to support? Fucking sales numbers. Sure who knows how this gen will turn out but you can bet that the Wii is not another GC. Go crawl back under the bridge.
My point (which was pretty clear BTW) is that I put little stock in Sony declaring a format a huge success considering how they positioned UMD. I didn't compare the usefulness of the formats just how untrustworthy Sony PR is.
I'm sure you guys all remember shortly after the PSP came out how Sony was selling tons and tons of UMDs. Where are they now? I'll trust Sony once the HD-DVD camp throws in the towel. Until then I will just stick with what I do know about them; that they are liars, thieves(MPAA/RIAA), and rootkiters.
Last I checked Apple will send you the upgrade if you buy a Mac within 90 days of the new OS release. Atleast thats how its been for the last while. Might be woth calling 1800-myapple to check though.
I gave Fedora Core 5 a shot about 8 months back. I have also used Yellow Dog on my Mac a few times in the last 2 years. I'm not ripping on Linux just pointing out the difficulty facing many new users. Things have gotten better but there are still some major issues making adoption somewhat difficult for novices.
I'm not really sure if this is Apple's fault. Also being 2 (almost 3) point versions behind can be a real issue when you are using hardware that is newer than the OS. Maybe Linksys should have made sure their routers would work properly on the Mac. I have had no troubles with the routers I have used on 10.2.X
I'm curious, what did you find "limiting"? With the new Intel Macs you can pretty much do anything Windows could do. I realize that you were using a G4 but even on PPC I can think of few things that just can't be done on Mac.
I'm primarily a Mac user at home and it is a system I have grown quite comfortable with. But I love the concept of FOSS like Linux. Ever since Red Hat 6 I have tried various distros every few months or so. The biggest issue I have run into is things like display drivers and codecs. Dependency hell is really hard to deal with. Thats not to say that I couldn't figure it out, but I just dont have the time. This sounds like a great solution for people who want to get to use Linux without dealing with some of the issues that I have seen over the last few years. Linux is awesome when it is set-up properly, very stable, fast and best of all free. But if 95% of the world cant instal an app or tweak a driver it is gonna have alot of trouble breaking into the desktop. Looks like I'm gonna give Ubuntu a shot. For the people that hate non-free software, thats fine, just dont install the binaries.
I just read your plight against that douche who stole your photos. Man its just sickening what a thieving jerk he is. As a fellow Mpls. resident I will never do biz with him and I really hope that you get your $200,000. Just goes to show how somebody can use the legal system to sap a person dry even when the case is so black and white. Similar to the doctor in this submission. Best of luck to you and keep us informed!
I see what you mean and in alot of cases I might agree but if you check out the site this guy has been sued like 10 times in the last 7 years or so... Thats not a good sign. Plus what is point of putting ones self online to be mocked when there is no reason? Surely she could have simply shown the judge before and after pictures and avoided the embarassment.
On her site she answers your question with the most resonable and honost response I can imagine. She was feeling old being 30+ and unmarried and she had just split with a long-term boyfriend. She had know the doctor for 4 years and he had a respected title. I agree it was stupid but in our culture a woman's youthfull appearence is highly prized. Its really sad that she made this choice, but she should not be blamed for the horrible result. I just applaud her courage to show those pictures and take the embrassment in the hope of educating others.
Yeah I got the jist of it too and I think you are right on. The problem for me is that her site, which I read all of, is very respectfull and straight foreward. This guy has had TONS of lawsuits against him for malpractice and yet she doesn't ever personally attack him or suggest that he is an all around bag guy or doctor. Obviously there is the suggestion but she avoids the explicit. I hate it when people abuse the legal system especially to cover their own ass. Its even more offensive when they have literally destroyed someones life and taken all their money. I would never get a surgery like this myself but clearly patents should be able to share whatever information they want as long as it is not threatening or straight out false. I'm sure you agree but I wanted to clarify my point.
You don't even deserve this, but I'll bite and feed the real "prick" of a troll.
1.Macs are similar in price- no more than about 10-15% (more or less).
2. iPods are often cheaper than the competition or the same (Zune) plus while they lack some "features" they make up for this by not being a bitch to use and actually working on a Mac instead of being PC only.
3. Mac OS upgrades have plenty of new features most of which you can test out with a few hardware upgrades and a bunch of patentice in the *NEW* Vista. But don't worry they are just a teaser.
4.Not sure what you mean by "Apple accessories" if you mean the mouse and keyboard maybe, but 3rd party stuff is the same price.
Wow I hope that you stop being such a FUDmaster and grow up. If you wanna talk try reading a book first.
Seriously how the hell could this not be construed as free-speech? I mean she is simply providing information on a service she is unhappy about in the hopes of educating others. Jeez I'm getting more and more afraid to open my mouth every day.
Sorry I by no means meant to reduce the importance of the victory Ms. Foster got against those thugs. She is a hero in my eyes. I was simply putting forth the wish that she had been able to extract more out of them.
As the other poster pointed out your efforts against these monopolists is fantastic and a real credit to you're character. Keep up the good fight!
Lawyers fees to a group like the RIAA isn't even pocket change. To make them respect consumers they must get a harsh slap. Big companies are often expected to pony up far more than an individual would in similar circumstances.
Yeah fuck those damn stupid uneducated academic pigs! Bravo.

I think you meant to say that the "far right" likes to destory the environment, not control it.

Defending P2P users from the RIAA mafia makes Ray a dick? Go back to playing with your lightsaber and leave the decisions to us adults.

...According to Toms Hardware atleast.

I don't remember saying that MS was any better or the HD DVD camp wasn't just as bad. They are both market failures so far.

Yeah I never meet scientists who use a Mac. Go troll somewhere else Mr. Gates.
