I guess the "feature" isn't having to pay monthy data fees even if you bought the phone at full cost.. My mom will be feature phone user as long as somebody is will to make them. The trick is to find a feature phone that has wifi and a usable browser for smartphone at hotspots, dumbphone everywhere else. If my phone wasn't an addiction I would seriously considering following her lead.
With the continued backlog of potentially negative data soon to be facing young-adults as they leave childhood and enter the job market, I expect Facebook will bring about an era where name changes upon adulthood become common place. Of course some people will go ahead and be stupid with their new identities too as many do now. But what other option will today's kids have to remove affiliations from their latest Beiber hate rant of drunken high school tweet?
I used the term in it's figurative sense. It's an expression, but rooted in my real frustration with Lucas. Not every common expression means exactly what the words specifically suggest; and this is one of those cases. Perhaps I should have said Lucas damaged the fantasy that was the "universe" in Star Wars through his never-ending manipulation. I forgive and usually openly accept "directors cuts" like the first Special Edition, I bought them and enjoyed them. Heck maybe that was his original vision (which he stated at the time), I mean new tech in CGI did allow stuff in 1997 he could have dreamed-up in the 70's but never created during the original filming. However the further alterations on Blu-ray which use no new technology (NOOOOOOO!!!) or methods just bother me and make me question the value of his earlier "adjustments". The new Indy film, and his continued weakness in his self-professed passion-film Red Tails, and the participation in the current convert-to3D fad all concrete his inability to innovate outside the GCI/FX enhancement realm. Further they suggest what many critics have suggested, that he doesn't value art at all, and would rather keep stringing fans along. I would argue that his largest crime to moviemaking is his obsession with constant "newness" has created the Micheal Bay period of film we are currently stuck in. Looking at movies like THX 1138 and American Graffiti shows a filmmaker who had huge potential early on, but lost to his affliction with the new shiny and need to expand his fortune at the expense of his integrity. Pardon the cliche, but he has become the darkside of today's American cinema.
That's the point. I think everyone wants him stop. He's just now getting the message and trying to seem like it's or fault he produces crap like the last Indy film, the prequels, and the mediocre Red Tails. Obviously I was kidding wishing his physical death, but I cheer his supposed cinema production death.
Couldn't it have been George. Cruel I know, but so is what he does seemingly for a living now- destroying my childhood and that of millions of other fans in the search for his ego. Queue the karma bonfire.
Never heard of Apple suing an appstore dev. Yes Apple steals ideas, but so does everybody else. That's either a good thing or a bad thing depending on who you ask.
Good point, however I think they are more interested in the captive audience of parents who see the film with their kids. Getting the Mazda name into kid's heads is just a nice by product.
Thanks for just coming out and saying what is so obvious to many Americans, and the rest of the 1st world who bother to watch our politics. I'm old enough to remember conservatives who used rational argumentation to describe their ideas. I didn't agree with them, but at least they treated voters like thinking people. Today it's just bizarre horseshit like the war on Christianity, in a country where 95%+ of elected leaders are Judeo-Christian, and nearly the same amount of the public. I'm happy to debate reality with a person who doesn't share my views, but screw people who present false truths as fact and expect me to accept those lies as reality before they will even listen. That is living in a bubble, and thus far the bubble is ever expanding. No wonder our education system is failing us- we just don't value facts and learning.
Its on Cydia for jailbroken iOS devices. Well actually 1.11 is, but that is more recent than the AppStore version. 2.0 should be coming out soon though.
Hmm perhaps its because (most) people don't upgrade to a new model everytime it comes out. Do you know that cars usually come out every year too? What about GPUs and CPUs? Heck those come out all the time! By your logic everybody must upgrade those annually as well to avoid being "obsolete". Not to mention iPads like most devices are usually supported well past their discontinuation date. I must hope you've been drinking this weekend say something so bizarre.
Glad I'm not alone. I'll add I'm far more likely to trust an opposing position put forth by someone who admits they are imperfect over one by a blowhard who won't accept an contrary evidence.
Fair, but chocolate is toxic to dogs. Yet to me it is yummy as hell, and some argue has positive health properties in moderation. Humans and insects are quite different by most measures.
I would argue the majority of people drink coffee and tea for the taste and caffeine is just part of the deal or a perk for some. There are just so many better ways to get jacked-up on caffeine if that is the sole goal. I too don't drink coffee, but love a nice Earl Grey every now and then.
A big difference is that caffeine is naturally occurring in lots of plants and not a major health negative especially as far as stimulants go. On the other hand only my kids believe that there is a McNugget tree in the wild despite my best efforts to avoid that shit.
I'm surprised that the long list of newly unsupported Macs isn't seen as more important than app signing. Here is a list of Macs unsupported by Mountain Lion:
Any Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook from late 2007 to late 2008,
Mid 2007 Mac mini,
Late 2006 polycarbonate iMac,
Early 2008 MacBook Air.
In the US at least Comcast can charge you after you pass 250GB, with ATT I think it's 150GB, and others are similar. And as far as wifi and ethernet, those are usually the methods used to tether. In either case the GP post has some merit, for an admittedly small portion of individuals. Still even a 5% chance of insane overages is concerning.

I amazed it took someone so long to point this out.
Turn in your geek card because you held down the shift key and put a # where a 3 is supposed to be.

Very cool. Never saw those- thanks!

Wish I had a basement now. /nerdgasm
But but but but... what about the jobs created by the autodialer software/hardware companies!?
Well hey at least your forum letter is only for preferred customers... whatever the hell that means!
Subject says it all. Just an FYI.

I'm so totally gonna re-tweet your comment! I also just must friend you on Facebook for being so insightful!
Sadly I agree with AndreR. Lots of users do exactly what he said. Mac users are just as smart or dumb as their Windows counterparts after all.
