I guess the "feature" isn't having to pay monthy data fees even if you bought the phone at full cost.. My mom will be feature phone user as long as somebody is will to make them. The trick is to find a feature phone that has wifi and a usable browser for smartphone at hotspots, dumbphone everywhere else. If my phone wasn't an addiction I would seriously considering following her lead.

With the continued backlog of potentially negative data soon to be facing young-adults as they leave childhood and enter the job market, I expect Facebook will bring about an era where name changes upon adulthood become common place. Of course some people will go ahead and be stupid with their new identities too as many do now. But what other option will today's kids have to remove affiliations from their latest Beiber hate rant of drunken high school tweet?

  3. Re:Why God why!? on Star Wars Conceptual Artist Ralph McQuarrie Dies at 82 · · Score: 1

I used the term in it's figurative sense. It's an expression, but rooted in my real frustration with Lucas. Not every common expression means exactly what the words specifically suggest; and this is one of those cases. Perhaps I should have said Lucas damaged the fantasy that was the "universe" in Star Wars through his never-ending manipulation. I forgive and usually openly accept "directors cuts" like the first Special Edition, I bought them and enjoyed them. Heck maybe that was his original vision (which he stated at the time), I mean new tech in CGI did allow stuff in 1997 he could have dreamed-up in the 70's but never created during the original filming. However the further alterations on Blu-ray which use no new technology (NOOOOOOO!!!) or methods just bother me and make me question the value of his earlier "adjustments". The new Indy film, and his continued weakness in his self-professed passion-film Red Tails, and the participation in the current convert-to3D fad all concrete his inability to innovate outside the GCI/FX enhancement realm. Further they suggest what many critics have suggested, that he doesn't value art at all, and would rather keep stringing fans along. I would argue that his largest crime to moviemaking is his obsession with constant "newness" has created the Micheal Bay period of film we are currently stuck in. Looking at movies like THX 1138 and American Graffiti shows a filmmaker who had huge potential early on, but lost to his affliction with the new shiny and need to expand his fortune at the expense of his integrity. Pardon the cliche, but he has become the darkside of today's American cinema.

Thanks for just coming out and saying what is so obvious to many Americans, and the rest of the 1st world who bother to watch our politics. I'm old enough to remember conservatives who used rational argumentation to describe their ideas. I didn't agree with them, but at least they treated voters like thinking people. Today it's just bizarre horseshit like the war on Christianity, in a country where 95%+ of elected leaders are Judeo-Christian, and nearly the same amount of the public. I'm happy to debate reality with a person who doesn't share my views, but screw people who present false truths as fact and expect me to accept those lies as reality before they will even listen. That is living in a bubble, and thus far the bubble is ever expanding. No wonder our education system is failing us- we just don't value facts and learning.
