fruit is a good investment these days, as everyone needs to eat...
oh, wait. were you talking about the overpriced computers? i'm sorry. i thought we were talking about an economic crises here... silly me.
(please don't smote me with your id# that less that 2% of mine)
IANAWTE (...wind turbine engineer...), however, my guess is the location is less about view and more about desirable wind characteristics... since when did any large company decided to spend significantly more money on a different location for their facility just so that people wouldn't have to see it?
Agreed, though my trouble stems from the fact that I know relatively little (ok...nothing) about the assumed frequency of planet-types within any system. It may be that they had predicted not to find a similar situation in this case... Can't say with out statistics to compare.
I wonder though... particle physics aside, if you were born into the model a la The Matrix, would it matter if it was photorealistic? I have 20/20 vision, but I've heard that people with bad eyes don't really realize how much detail they're missing till they get glasses. If the Matrix had the graphic levels of DOOM or Quake 1, but you never saw what real life looked like, would you buy it?
I wonder what the minimum number of people using the service in a given area would be in order for this to be much help. If a cop sits in a specific place for only a few hours, there are only so many drivers going by, and at least one person before you would have to see it and report it for you to get any benefit. I'm sure in larger metropolitan areas and high volume interstates, it will come more quickly, but what about state highways and local roads?
* Empirical evidence proves the existence of objects that theoretically had to exist
* An object theoretically had to exist,
* Therefore, this object may or may not have existed.
* This evidence proves an object may or may not have existed.
* The evidence proves nothings?
* Confirmation bias? * Profit! (?)
I did this search http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22we+could+not+find+matches+for%22+target.com&aq=f&oq=&aqi= and my third result of things Target couldn't find matches for was "Anal Massage for Lovers Vol. 2"
Posts like this make me wish /. had a +1 Pop Culture mod.

Any lawyer can outrun a male grizzly bear in the middle of mating season.
I didn't know lawyers had a mating season! I guess I always assumed they were created in liquid-filled vats somewhere in Canada...
Also... what do the lawyers do when the catch up to the bear?
if it was done by men, the results for the girls would have been reported not in percentages or A's B's and C's, but in 34A's 38C's and 46DD's

I for one welcome our new anti-gravity crystalline amphibious overlords...
Screw that, I get uncomfortable watching my dog 'poopie'. I have biological need to not feel like vomiting.
