Since the rights of fair use are neither denied by the US Constitution, nor are they denied in copyright law, they're rights "granted" by the Constitution.
The Attorney-General of the United States disagrees with you. And, seeing as how he's the Attorney-General and you're not, it's his opinion that matters.
The US is still THE most free nation in the world.
That isn't that reassuring when, if the US Government disagrees with you, it can turn up in the middle of the night, stick a bag on your head, and fly you to a NON-free nation where anything goes... without telling anyone.
I for one refuse to comment on this subject until Michael Crichton tells me what is right!

Oh wait... maybe free speech ISN'T an absolute.

Everyone ignore the posts above by poster "iminplaya". As a registered sex offender and convicted child rapist, he doesn't deserve to be heard in this forum.
I, on the other hand, have no need for the sheer horsepower of a Mac Pro. So when I dumped my Windows machines a couple of months ago, I got Mac Mini for my desktop and a Macbook for my laptop. Couldn't be happier.
The concern is that they want you to buy 3 copies of Vista instead of cloning three VMWare images and running 3 machines on one fat piece of hardware.
I think it's more likely to be a case of "they don't want you to buy 1 copy of Vista, install it in a VM, and then put the VM image up on a BT tracker for a billion of your close personal friends".
Gee, can't see why Microsoft would have a problem with that...
Come on guys, Microsoft does enough retarded things. Don't bash it for the perfectly sensible things.
"The sixth book of the (Potter) series sold more copies in 24-hours than The Da Vinci Code sold in a year. (The Da Vinci Code was the best-selling book of the previous year.)"
My Macbook came stock with 512MB and Tiger ran FAST. No problems or slowdowns at all.
Disclaimer 1: I disabled Dashboard, that thing sucks memory like you wouldn't believe. Disclaimer 2: I have since gone up to 1GB to run virtualized Windows XP simultaneously.
Yeah, because it was completely unforseeable that anything bad could ever happen. I mean, a locked capsule full of uninsulated electrical cables and flammable material pressurised with pure oxygen... what could POSSIBLY go wrong?
In spite of all the commentary from those still feeling the effects of the Reality Distortion Field, it seems self-evident to me that the Iphone is a video Ipod that has some limited phone-like functionality -- not a phone in and of its own right.
Here are a few things that any mobile phone of mine must be capable of.
1. Working, with no extra interaction from me, in any country I travel to. 2. Being robust enough to bounce around in my bag with a set of car keys and a couple of bucks in loose change for an hour or so without getting cosmetically ruined. 3. Operating painlessly as a modem for my laptop when I need it.
What concerns me is that in the last two years I've heard no news about a replacement for SHA-1.
WTF? Have you been living in a cave or something?
Crypto mailing lists, newsgroups, and discussion forums talked about almost nothing else for about six months following the announcement that SHA-1 had been broken.
Even the US government, which moves at the speed of a glacier, proposed replacements for SHA-1 in FIPS back in March last year.
From what I understand the Australian distributor really did a poor job though.
Understatement of the century. Ozisoft (the distributor) delayed the launch, fucked up the ad campaign, overpriced the console out of the market, and drip-fed titles. The Dreamcast was doomed in Australia thanks to Ozisoft.
My DC is still hard at work. I have it installed in the kitchen at my workplace... my workmates and I thrash each each other at Soul Calibur while we wait for the coffee to brew.
Mac users already have it in the form of Quicksilver, which all Mac users have.
Yes -- but in the US, it's LEGAL.

How's this for scary:

No, it's house with a bit of jungle in it, man!
I want it because the interface for phone calls and text messages blows everything else away
You think a TOUCHSCREEN is going to be good for composing text messages??
Not only would it sway my vote, but a positive stance on privacy would damn-near guarantee it.
I couldn't agree more.
completely re-engineered with a herculean effort

Sheesh, it sounds like a Fark headline.
Wow, you're 24? I never would have guessed.

I'll stick with Warcraft III Battle.net. The greatest game ever made.
Amen brother.

This is Kings Cross, Sydney, Australia. It is possible to buy drugs down just about any side street on just about any night of the week.
There -- I've linked directly to information on how to buy drugs. When do I go to jail?
