    Revenue != Profit unless costs are 0. It costs a lot of money to keep such a large network running and Internet is one of many services they provide. I do feel your point, though.

    You know it was recent so just uninstall the recent updates and reinstall them one by one until things break.

    To give you an idea, my Windows 7 install is currently using about half of my RAM but the other half is being used as a cache. I have 20MB of unused RAM but another 500MB or so available for instant use. Vista does the same thing, it just doesn't explain it quite as well.

    Funny enough, the SD card slot was working under Vista but not 7. Everything else works.

    You have a strange definition of "apparently". It was apparent to him because he witnessed it himself. Apparently, you haven't run the beta. It boots faster on my 5 year old laptop than XP ever did.

    Things are a lot harder because these scientists don't have a full lab to work with. They chose which tests they would be able to run before the rovers and probes launched and chose not to include certain tests based on what they knew at the time.

    A similar economy (modulo liability insurance costs) can be applied to the pharmaceutical companies.

    I strongly doubt movie tickets and pharmaceuticals can be grouped under any single model. Movies are a luxury whereas pills are a necessity and will be purchased at almost any price.

    Sidewalks often run along the SIDE of houses, often with a garden between the sidewalk and the house. This isn't really any different from grass being between the sidewalk and the street.

    I remember geocities. I also remember being the only person I knew to have a personal website. I remember it also being much harder to use than facebook.

    If facebook didn't exist, everybody would have a personal website? That sounds really far-fetched, especially because it wasn't true before facebook existed. Websites are far more work than a facebook profile.

    There is nothing weird about not wanting a land line in addition to multiple cell phones. Everbody that wants to talk to me or my wife have our cell phone numbers and use those. A land line is simply redundant and very limited. I had a land line for a few months after I first moved out and only used it twice. My cell phone was far more convenient.

    You're going to love Windows 7. I installed it in 30 minutes on my 5-year-old laptop and all the questions were at the beginning except for user setup.

    Windows Se7en will still require the outlandish hardware that Vista does.

    You mean it will require at least a Pentium 4 2.4GHz, 1GB RAM, 32MB video card, 80GB HDD? That's what I have and it runs as well as XP, except for Aero.

    Your experience is almost the complete opposite of mine. I'm enjoying the speed of XP and all the cool features of Vista with my copy of Windows 7.

    You haven't been in a store that sells TVs lately, have you? Recently manufactured TVs have digital tuners built-in and the majority of TVs available in store are flat-panel TVs.

    Yep. Just about every help file I can find in Windows 7 starts out with "[This content is preliminary and subject to change.]" The quickest example is the IE8 help file on Windows 7.
