    Because Linux is only the kernel, and what most people know as Linux is actually Linux + GNU Programs. So, calling it GNU/Linux is more accurate.

    Being intelligent alone doesn't make you moral, sociable, or even wise.

    I personally find this situation disgusting and hold sympathy for Kathy Sierra. I know how someone changes after being abused verbally like this, and I wish I didn't. It's a crime, and if it isn't, then it should be. I believe we should find those responsible and bring them to justice. Anything short of ruining their careers and social lives (if they have any) is probably not enough.

    Unless you live in other parts of the world where suing isn't so easy (i.e. Not America), in which case you were spot-on.

    Do you have ANY real data to back that up?

    Yes. 67% of computer "upgrades" (meaning people who bought a new computer or upgraded an existing one) were to Vista. I know this because out of a sample of three people who "upgraded" (me, my mother, her husband), two of them bought Vista PCs.

    What? It's not like Symantec did much better with their data...

    You are too thoughtful sir. Thank you! Did I ever tell you how fabulous I think IBM assembly language is? You know, it has all those wonderful registers (yes, all 16 of them, if you count those 4 or 5 registers that you can't use). Ah well, I should know better than to post on Slashdot with my name about a subject on the eve of that test. If you answer this, don't just answer "Indeed". :) Oh, and I know you're going to show this to class tomorrow. Hi his class. :) Anyway, enough that's enough of me mongering around on /. for today.     Unfortunately (or maybe not unfortunately), our Computer-Organization professor decided that he'd teach us IBM assembly. It's not terrible, but it's not terribly relevant either. Still, seeing that I know PC Assembly relatively well, I can learn the IBM ASM pretty easily. The same cannot be said of my colleagues. :/

    I think it's a very good idea.
