As the flagship device manufacturers raise their prices, the more value brands can do so in lockstep.
Some people will pay almost any price for the latest shiny bauble.
It's now a toss-up for me as to whether they're still Deathstar Telecom or if they've become something more akin to The Doomsday Machine from classic Trek. Once satisfied to rule the galaxy, AT&T's appetite for acquisition has turned its primary weapon into a gaping maw into which many alternative options for consumers have found themselves trapped.

The "Why?" is not very complicated. I'm interested in the subject matter, have a long daily commute and would rather listen to content targeting some of my exact interests than the same 10 songs over and over on the radio.
This way, all of that drive time is at least entertaining and often informative.
Or, I could RTFA.
"Further analysis, which might require a warrant, could be necessary to determine whether such usage was via hands-free dashboard technology and to confirm the original finding."
So you'd potentially be declared guilty of driving whilst distracted until a warrant was obtained to determine that you were using hands-free?
One would think that since they're already in the device that such a thing could easily be determined.
In the last year, our production accounting division finally migrated away from a disparate amalgam of IBM System/3, System/34 and System/36 and System/360 machines. The last run from the System/360 Model 30 was just before Christmas last year.
The year before that, Billing was finally rid of a PDP-8 that was used for certain accounts that the modern accounting system wasn't designed to accommodate.
I use a Windows 7 box running WMC and using a Silicon Dust CableCard tuner setup because I can't stomach paying the local MSO $9-12/month (rural) for their DVR with a 1998 UI and zero network capability. What is a viable replacement that doesn't involve me switching to secondary dedicated boxes, aside from the FireTV Stick that I use for Netflix (much faster than WMC p!ugin)?
Ms. Fletcher,
While this isn't an EE question, so to speak, being in the know, you may be able to answer this. Does GM have any plans to offer small diesel engines as a more efficient alternative to the current gasoline ICE in the Chevrolet Volt? I ask because my employer provides access to all the free diesel fuel I can handle, but does not subsidize gasoline or ethanol. Also, the energy density of a given cc of diesel is greater than gasoline (and certainly ethanol) and at least allows that it could be more efficient.
I realize that most people might assume that what I'm suggesting would be something akin to Top Gear's Hammerhead Eagle i-Thrust, but I know that it wouldn't be such. VW, VM Motori, Lombardini, Perkins, Deutz and others already make small diesels that would likely fit the given dimensions.
Ms. Fletcher,
I was ready to walk to my local dealer and fork over a sizable amount of cash to pre-order a Chevrolet Volt when it was revealed that it would be all-electric propulsion without any mechanical linkage to the wheels from the ICE. Then, GM changed their strategy and released what is basically a nicely appointed vehicle which is GM's take on the Prius. My question is, does GM plan to go back to that strategy and sell an electric car where any ICE is used exclusively for powering a generator?
While I cannot recall the exact URL of the server, there is at least one Apple Newton-based web server still running. How's that for using 4 AA's for good instead of evil?
The lame-ass script kiddies that are pulling this crap are going to probably see this as a great victory... They'll be telling all of their lame friends that they shut down IRCNet, now too. While I'm with the ops in locking the system for a while in protest, I can see where the lame-ass script kiddies could see this as 'their work in action.' Oh lord.... -- [Looks into Bucket of Truth] Don't you think I know that!!!!!

This should be interesting.
If I recall correctly, you could connect with ZTerm/similar and download the FirstClass Client, but you couldn't do much else, much like TeleFinder.
I ran a Wildcat BBS back in the day and later combined my efforts with another board to form a FirstClass system. Fun times!
"I must have put a decimal point in the wrong place or something. I always do that! I always mess up some mundane detail!"

ITM!
This dancing around a Ministry of Truth is extremely uncomfortable.

I wonder if such a system would factor in dictation input in deciding "guilt."

Ms. Fletcher,
Does GM have any plans to leverage ultracapacitors for primary energy storage in place of batteries?
Thank you!
