The whole study doesn't seem very scientific to me. It seems just as likely to me that, for example, a potential social sexual situation causes a rise in anxiety, which causes the males to do less well in a test. Perhaps the presence of an animal which the subject finds intimidating, or a rusty container supposedly dangerous chemicals would produce a similar result?
Netsurf is a little known, low resource browser that's worth watching. It started life as a RISC OS (Acorn) browser but it's now cross platform. The show stopper is that it doesn't yet support javascript, but they're working on it.
Why do I get the feeling that if this does become workable and widely used a certain other company is going to come up with its own version that only works with its products?
I talked to one of scientists the other day and he said that there's nothing to worry about. He did admit that they had never driven the hardware as hard as this before and kept calling me Gordon though... Bah! All those damn scientists look the same to me.
It sounds more likely that Mario cut himself when he was jumping over one of those barrels. In fact there were lots of opportunities for sexual transmission. Think about that time they all went karting together. Perhaps DK did it with the lady and then Mario did it with her?
The snag is that there is a limited amount of funding and human space exploration is done at the expense of robotic exploration. Personally, I'd rather see increased robotic exploration of the moons of Jupiter, for example, than a mission to Mars.

I wasn't really seeing her, it was more of an one-nighter.
Maybe the guy is a crack addict and he means that it's really really great program that he'd happily steal and lie to get some more of.
This psychology stuff is all bunk anyway. I'm sick of Slashdot for today. I'm going to buy a DVD of Donnie Darko. And then maybe buy a an Orchid of some kind. And then look for some splayed vagina porn. Anything to take my mind off the dark moths that are probably watching me.
Your ankle might preclude it, but consider cycling if at all possible. The great thing about it is that most people can work in into their daily routine without making any special effort for "exercise".
If the sunspot activity continues to increase, we'll have to send a mission to fire a massive tube of spot cream into the sun rather like in the film Sunshine.
That scene would have played great if the gender roles had been reversed: Expert female hacker forced into sex, at gunpoint, by gangsters. Can be clearly heard saying "no" a couple of times. Hey, but in the end, she enjoyed it really, just like they all do.
Actually, the male rape is less offensive to me than the technical nonsense in the movie. That film only has two saving graces IMO.
Male feminists like you really piss me off. Like most feminists, your well meant, if naive, emotive rhetoric ignores the fact that WOMEN ARE THE EQUALS OF MEN. They are just as capable of decision making as men, and your line of reasoning robs women of agency. If you believe in equality, anything that you say about the women in porn would have to apply equally to the men. Are you telling us that most of the men in porn are innocent angels who were coerced into it? No, because you think that every woman is a bimbo. Sure, sure - a few of them, when they get into trouble will play up to cultural superstitions and say "Yeah, it was the evil MEN who made me, the innocent victim, do it." But those women are in a tiny minority. If the story about the girl from your home town is true, the people who caused her problems were the feminists who perpetuated the daft idea that porn is evil, thus re-enforcing the stigma of participating in it. I say, what did the woman do that was wrong?
Come on, you know what Georges are like. Clearly Orwell had always intended for 1984 to be part II of a trilogy. "You mean uzzaa people never know for sure when uzzaa been watched?" I can't wait. Episode III will be a serious documentary about modern life in Britain.
No, we know for sure that spending money on direct research will have some benefits. You're saying that focusing on a goal that has no direct benefits will probably have greater knock on benefits than direct research would have done. I think that puts the burden of proof onto you.
I'm not against the space program but I'm one of many who think that the focus should be on things that are obviously useful. A manned mission to Mars/might/ provide some stimulus the overall sense of aspiration amongst people, but robotic missions seem to provide a greater practical return on investment. Richard Branson's efforts look like they might successfully pay for themselves while advancing technology, another laudable goal, IMO.
In all seriousness, American student campuses seem to be quite left wing and they would probably impose such values on the search results. A typical student isn't going to rate a page of pure race hatred as "useful" even if the content is extremely pertinent to the search terms.

Planning on putting together a Slashdot Mars mission team? I salute you!
No, it uses its own layout engine.

It'll only be serious stuff if you're watching on TV.

I hear they were damned dirty tapes.

It's annoying when a joke thread begins to dominate. Particularly when the subject is a most interesting article about Kentucky Fried Chicken.

You could engrave your entire collection of Chuck Norris movies to it.
As someone else said, the rules have changed. To open a bank account you need photo ID and a separate proof of address.

He was the only human who ever lived a perfect life and never did anything wrong in thought and deed.
I'm sick of every thread being taken over by an Apple fanatic. How about the Apple III? Explain that.
When I'm on a plane I like to know that I'm in the hands of a guy who likes shirtless oiled up volley ball games after work with his pals.

Can you prove that microprocessor design wouldn't have progressed more quickly if the money had been pushed into direct research?
