I'd be curious as to how many minimum wage jobs there really are. Most of those jobs are held by HS students probably, and it's just gravy money. I'm sure there are few families living on it.
Maybe the reason why "it's barely worth it" is because the welfare system pays more than a job.
It wasn't literally "go work at mcdonalds". The point was, "you can ALWAYS find a job". It may not be the one you want, or like, but we can't all fuck [insert hot babe name here].
This is *way off topic*, but someone must know the answer. I'm noticing tons of default.ida and cmd.exe type IIS "hack" attempts on my Apache boxes. They obviously dont work, but some of these guys are dammed persistant and go over and over and over again.
I'd like to be able to do something to change my packet filtering rules to send them to/dev/null or something. It would be great to do this as soon as it happens, but something running on a 5 minute cron would be fine too.

It's kind of funny/kind of sad that that dialog box (which i've seen many times), goes against the Apple Interface Guidelines.
I'm new to MacOSX, had a long flight, so i started reading random PDFs on the disk. Found that one. Neat reading, but long.... and sometimes boring.
1) This is fixed in XP. Surprisingly MacOSX has this problem. Very frustrating.
2) Not sure I understand this. I can click on a sub menu and leave it, mouse around the whole screen, and come back to it. Granted, if i click elsewhere, it goes away. What would you expect?
3) I agree lame. OSX went and put minimize next to Minimize.
4) A slow double click is a SINGLE click! Happens on MacOSX.
When I lived in Houston, Tx there was a place called EPO. Tons of stuff, stacked everywhere. It was awesome. Got stuff for a 4 computer homenetwork for 30 bucks, including hub.
I've since moved to Philly and am looking for something similar. Anyone know? King of Prussia area would be optimal, however, I'll go nearly anywhere.... Anyone?
I'm really surprised at this question. Those are small files. Serve them any way you want. If I were posting ISOs or something, it seems more "natural" to serve via FTP.
However, I'm sure you'll be serving them via a "Click to Download" link, which it doesn't matter. You click, the browser downloads. End of story.
I'm really interested in Missionary vs Doggy Style. Missionary is traditional, old-skool, and makes me feel dominant. However, doggy style gives me that porn star class that I crave in my lovemaking sessions, not to mention the hairpulling and ass-slapping possibilities. But you dont see me asking Slashdot. Even though it is "stuff that matters".
Amen. Just last week, I was in 1st class, and two guys on the other side of the aisle opened their 17" powerbooks. They were travelling together. Some sort of artsy-fartsy business travelers I gathered. I could not help looking at those laptops for the 5 hours. They were fantastic.
Hate to pile on the French, but as Al Bundy said, "it's good to hate the French".
Did you know that French tanks have 1 forward gear and 5 reverse gears? *rimshot*
Seen in classifieds in paper: "For Sale: French rifles. Never been fired, only dropped once"
Did you read the book? Or, did the author of this comic read the book? When Dagny discovered the valley with the capitalists, her first job was as a "housewife"... doing to the cooking, cleaning etc....
That's interesting. My parent's have an RCA VCR that is *very* early 80s. Top loader. However, the VCR part comes off from the tuner and is used as the recorder part for a camera. It still works after regular usage.
Had a funny remote though. The keys were like from an IBM model M keyboard or something. Small keys though (1/4 inch by 3/8 inch) But you *knew* you pushed a button.
MAD TV is an excellent alternative to SNL. In the Philly market, MAD TV is on Fox at 11PM on Saturday night.
I noticed that when MAD TV started getting good and popularity boomed, SNL got better.
Though with the departure of Will Farrel, SNL is back to crap. The last season of SNL was one of the best ever. The episode with Jack Black was the best one ever.
But it's hard for them to compete with MAD TV. They've had roughly the same crew since day one (4 or five years ago), and their writing has improved as well.
Well, maybe not that fast.
It may take 4 seconds to scan 2^16 hosts, but to check for exploits and install itself? Maybe a minute or two.
I do agree, that it would probably be minutes. Maybe even faster than the Morris worm.
No. Less than three days. Imagine if you found the first exploitable host, infected it, then started the search from that one. Now you have two searching. You would exploit and scan, scan and exploit... Could be very fast.
Woke up one morning to an email from a former boss wanting "information about the current SCADA applications" at a place I worked for while under his employ.
That was pretty bad.
Then he said, "Sorry for sending it to you so early in the morning, I need it for a lunch meeting".
It was actually a sales pitch at lunch.
I was pissed, but that didn't set me off.
He sent the email with a HIGH PRIORITY MS Outlook flag, so it had a red ! in my Inbox. !!!!
I debated sending a nasty flaming message regarding compensation for my time, etc.
Then I looked at my clock. 1PM.. Oops. Woke up too late to help you pal.
thanks for the links.
Nah.. that's "Bootan-ee Lee Farnsworth".... Bitches!

Right on. McDonalds is *always* hiring.
There is a job for everyone, you just need to look.
As a capitalist-pig(tm), I say, "there's no money in being an employee".
You are not a unique and beautiful snowflake.
It's sad that 1) this wasn't credited, 2) the moderator didn't get it.
Fight Club, btw....

Can you tell I just made the switch?

Is there a "In Soviet Russia" joke in here somewhere?
c'mon man.
Jingle Bells!
