The base pair sequence is nice, yet there is much more to gene expression than that. Two cloned cats can look and act remarkably differently. In embryology, it is known that the same gene can act differently depending on the timing and circumstances of that gene's activation. So bravo for cheap fast sequences, but we will need to know more about gene expression for genomics to bring big changes to medicine.
According to an interview with Assange in Forbes
JA: We have one related to a bank coming up, that’s a megaleak. It’s not as big a scale as the Iraq material, but it’s either tens or hundreds of thousands of documents depending on how you define it.
Forbes: Is it a U.S. bank?
JA: Yes, it’s a U.S. bank.
Forbes: One that still exists?
JA: Yes, a big U.S. bank.
Forbes: The biggest U.S. bank?
JA: No comment.
Forbes: When will it happen?
JA: Early next year. I won’t say more.
Yes. Most companies have a growing, but money-losing "star", a flat but highly profitable "cash cow" and a few others that are in between. It is common practice to disguise the actual performance of those business units by creatively defining segments for external SEC reporting.
And area code 478 (IPT) is Macon, Georgia. But there just isn't anything there that would be worth wasting a bottle rocket, let alone a solid fuel propelled missile with the optional deluxe "hey look at me I have a ten mile long contrail glowing in the sunset like a gigantic peacock's ass" contrail. Sleep well, Macon, you are safe tonight.
I have lived in several of the most highly taxed states in the US as well as several with ultra-low taxes. Schools, roads, parks, fire protection, police, and other common services are better in the states where people pay higher taxes... and demand a better quality of life. Sorry about your stuff and your pets, but think of all the money you've saved by living in a state without basic services.

More than 850,000 people in the US hold Top Secret clearance. There are a lot of "sufficiently bright" technologists at NSA, CIA, DOD, etc and their contractors. Perhaps the issue is more one of priority than spending?
I had the same issue using a GPS on my bike... the glossy screen was a pain in outdoor light. Solution: matte-finish film applied to the glass. Cost was under $10, probably a lot more for a 15" (38 cm) laptop display.
Define "media".

Lie down with dogs.
Time for Jamie and Adam to get busy on this rumor. Bwahahahaha.
I would love to see a true cost / benefit analysis of the TSA.
Costs $ billions.
Cuts productivity of business travelers.
Dissuades casual travelers from taking vacations.
Increases airfare.
Decreases the flight hours of cockpit crews.
Degrades morale of customer-facing airline workers.

No point looking for the original document -- it was in Swedish.
Uff da!
"Everybody Talks About the Weather, But Nobody Does Anything About It." Quote investigator did a nice piece on the origins of this phrase.

Yep, except for that darned "light only travels in one direction in time" problem... sigh.

1. The internet runs on advertising and pr0n.
2. Advertisers will pay more if they can see who's watching.
3. Terahertz cameras can see through clothing.

Because they cost a boatload?

Freedom of speech and expression ... unless what you have to say is politically incorrect
Freedom of religion ... unless it is within walking distance of 'ground zero'.
Freedom from want ... unless you want your job to stay in this hemisphere.
Freedom from fear ... unless you are afraid of surveillance by those who are swarn to protect your freedom.
Ummm. Pardon my ignorance, but when did congress declare war and on whom?
