So breasts shouldn't excite a man? How bout a teen going through puberty? How bout a young boy?

The fact that people have to argue the interpretation of the act, is proof enough that the act itself is not accepted by the common public.

I'm not for, or against. Sure, bring out the breasts. Just don't get mad if some teen tries to cop a feel, because you did something that was out of the ordinary. And to those that argue this is ordinary/natural/etc., then how come you very very rarely seeing people breastfeeding in public as is? Because as a mature parent, you are expected to act responsible and find a private place (like a bathroom) for these activities. Otherwise, urination is perfectly natural as well and I should be free to do it anywhere.

Argue however you like, these are just facts, not opinions. After reading most of the comments here, everyone is very very one sided sadly, and give emotional and attacking responses... hopefully I don't need to cite any of them as evidence.

Make it a car analogy: you can transport cargo, each car = core. You can only transport 2 cargo loads down a 2 lane road, adding a 3rd car makes them go slower... if you think the engineers don't think about expanding the road is idiotic.

Since you can't pick the server, it will find a dedicated server randomly... now some assholes who host them fuck with the settings of your game (changing difficulty settings regardless of what you specify, even maps that you don't specify), but the best one I went to was one with an ad welcome page. Not only did it have an annoying audio clip, but it had 2 error messages that automatically Alt+Tabbed me out of the game (once for each message, resulting in 2 manual alt+tabs total) requiring a response to a Yes/No error message.

Don't even get me started on how security prone this idea is. Randomly selecting a server that can throw whatever insecure website it wants? Expect an exploit server very very fucking soon Valve...

The idea of random dedicated servers was decent, but is now being fucked with by the hosts, making the game less and less enjoyable every day. Something that should be fixed soon, since idiots don't understand what a 'dedicated' server is supposed to mean. There's very little they can actually do that would upset me. Swearing and calling me names, only makes me more happier to not be as helpful. If by the time you reach a mature adulthood, you haven't figured that out, then your life really does suck.

Guess this is why I wouldn't fit in the army, not to mention I would probably be the parent in the shopping center with the kid screaming and not responding to them until they stop screaming. So, we only want a smart-enough AI, not a god AI.

So the problem becomes: we don't want it to beat us all the time, but if we make it smart, it will beat us, but we want it to be smart!

So the solution is: make it capable of beating us all the time. Then flip a coin to determine if it will choose the winning strategy, or sit like a lame duck so it won't win all the time.

  22. Re:one important point on A Look At Modern Game AI · · Score: 1

Except an RTS/FPS AI merge wouldn't accomplish certain aspects of strategy.

An RTS decides 'what' units to make, but does nothing about what to do with a current group of units. Nor does an RTS decide what to do in battle; have x units do this, while y units do flank. If unit z is below condition w, retreat/heal other units. Instead it simply says: I have x units. Send them all in to attack... No attack strategies, just build strategies. Hardly useful in an FPS when you are using 'pre-built' units to attack with.

Look at the scripting for AIs (I have only looked at starcraft's) in RTS's for a general feel of how it is done... It isn't really all that intelligent, especially since it knows the entire map. Hell, in half of the RTS's, the difference between normal and expert is whether the game cheats and has unlimited resources.

We have already removed them, or blacklisted, and anyone who does go to them; expect the police at your door.

The only difference here is: the government will choose sites they deem not in the best interest of providing them more power over its citizens, without scrutiny.

I find this whole situation laughable, because people weren't in an up rise about the filtering until they no longer had control of what would be filtered. It's not the fact it's being filtered (like some people act like it is) that people are mad.
