The issue that the USPS was saying that since their employees die earlier they should pay less then the rules used for all other government agencies?

No, that wasn't the issue at all. It was carrying forward issues from the switchover in '74 with regard to payrates and such.

  2. unrealistic gravity

I actually meant the really horrific effect that the ships slowed down and listed/dipped (in the same direction!) as they were disabled. I don't really care about the bombs. I assume that they were just actively pushed down.

the series finally confronting the really obvious idea that FTL can be used as a weapon

Yeah, in a stupid way that was unnecessarily delayed (wait until 2 other capital ships are destroyed and like 1/2 the small escape pods). And there are no hyperspace torpedoes. Or otherwise weaponized versions. Better to just say "it's impossible cause of BS reason" than open a can of worms that badly.

    X-Wings flying like airplanes

You mean in three dimensions? Or the wings? Cause the wings thing doesn't bother me (seems like a fine way to spread your weapons out.) Or... I'm actually not sure what you're complaining about..

    sound in space

Doesn't bother me in the slightest. Cause, you know, movie SFX. It's not like there was a major plot point that hinged on hearing in space.

    moon-sized space stations

I have 0 problems with that. Absent the prohibitive cost, I'm not sure of the issues.

capital ships that move as if they're in an ocean

I don't remember that being a big issue in the first three movies. But it certainly was an issue here.

  3. It wasn't the plot that got me, it was the really bad (tactics/physics/etc) space battles. Star Wars practically defined impressive space battles. The latest one was... horrible. In ways avoided by earlier movies. Everything was done in 2D with spaceships effected by gravity. Dramatic concluding explosion with no forewarning that changed the in universe physics. The way that the bombs were released (in terms of the interior of the ship) made no sense.

Also, some of the "jokes" they threw into the dialog... but bad dialogue is at least tradition.

I'm not talking about prepayment of pension funds. I'm talking about how, uniquely among federal agencies, when new information changes the funds needed for prepayments such that the USPS overpayed, it neither gets a refund nor even to count those overpayments in a previous year as towards the payments required in a current/future year. The account is just permentantly overpaid. In 2012, it was to the tune of 11.2 billion

Guessing from your claim that this is a lie, I assume you're pretty conservative. There are a lot of sources, but even the Heritage Foundation has supported these claims.

Yes, they either suffer from the same problems, implemented the same solution, or already slowed the CPU down whether they shipped. This is a hardware limitation (so it could be done in software, firmware or hardware.) But batteries that can power a CPU at 100% when new cannot power that CPU at 100% when old. So, either you have to prevent apps from using 100% of the CPU, or the battery randomly cuts out when it's eventually using 100% of the CPU.

Let Amazon use UPS or FedEx.

First, Amazon does use UPS. UPS, FedEx and DHL outsource the non-profitable part of their deliveries to the USPS. Honestly, that's the subsidy Trump ought be railing against. (From a technical point of view. It may be better politically/rhetorically to choose one high profile customer like Amazon).

Second, subsidizing some things (like roads), even for megacorps like Amazon, is important. It makes it easier for those megacorps to start up, and their competitors to start up as well. However, the typical payoff for that is supposed to be corporate tax dollars over and above the subsidy from the successful megacorps.

  9. Large tax breaks to corporations generally equate to those companies spending between 10 and 20% of the initial take on employees wages and bonus's.

[Citation needed]. There have been a couple of high profile raises to $15/hr (which turns out to be less of a change than you would think as a percentage of salary) and a few high profile one-time bonuses. These have been high-profile precisely because the vast majority of (esp. large) companies aren't changing incentive structures at all (maybe 5% of the Fortune500). And, they come exclusivey from heavily regulated industries (e.g. banking) or otherwise had pending regulatory decisions (e,g, AT&T) before the Trump administration.

  13. I'm far more likely to get a Fire, now that I know I can just install a browser and play videos from that. I recall trying those mini-Android HDMI plug in things, and (at least when I tried them) full screen in browser video didn't work. Since that's all I wanted...

  14. You're selling a gift card. With a lot of publicity. It's a good deal (if you believe the company can honor its plans). That's why. With Netflix or Hulu, you had to sell a new experience/good. That meant convincing people why they want it.

I bet I could get over 1M customers real quickly with a $10/mo gets you all the fast food you can eat. It would literally be people who spend $10+ a month opting for a cheaper option.

Net neutrality is a crisper line. Antitrust laws have a lot more judgement involved, which is usually siding with the corporation. Also, IIRC, antitrust complaints have to start from a competing company, but NN can start from a customer. Lastly, the FCC seems better able to do their job than the FTC. Maybe because there are competing big money interests who want NN, but don't want to start the *opoly accusations flying.

The liability is handled quite differently. CC liability is usually limited to $50 or $0 (it's pushed onto the merchant) Most importantly, the CC company will not make you pay/charge interest while they ask the merchant for proof. Debit card liability is tricker, I believe there's more of an onus on you. But certainly, in that case, you're trying to get money back. They won't front you the funds while they try to resolve it. So, if there's fraud, that may mean you don't have the cash to do X with a debit card, whereas with a credit card it only means you may not have the credit on a specific card (I don't know if disputes count against your credit limit while they are in place. Probably).
