  1. Re:I expect my printer to work on Are Printers What They Used To Be? · · Score: 1

Note that the cartridges you get included with the printer are rarely full. Basicly they give you enough ink to stop "doesn't print anything" calls to CS because the user didn't purchase and install cartridges along with the printer.

You can tell there is a problem with printer pricing when the cable (not included) is a significant percentage of the printer price.

Most laptops (I'd bet 80%+, think business) are dual use travel/desk machines. Those desks tend to have printers on them. Also it's been my experience that printers are replaced less often than PCs. I've gone through several PC upgrade cycles since I bought my Epson Colour printer (the orginal) in 1993. Still using the printer. This means legacy demand will mean the continued inclusion on printer ports for a long time. Contrast to say external modems. I fire up my old 150Baud everyone once and a while to scare the kids and watch the lights but I sure ain't using it for work.

Sound like legal at MS together with management decided to willfully misrepresent the situtation. I'm Shocked! Shocked I say that the honest corperate citizen that MS is would make this mistake :)

[1] I don't know where felony charges kick in under the DMCA but for sake of argument let's say $5000. At full suggested retail price of $20 you only have to download 250 songs, each off a different album, to break the $5000 barrier.
