That was definitely too hard. You expect me to copy and paste an entire command, when I could have written down the names and manually selected them from a user friendly GUI with 300 DLL files listed?
Nope. If written using real cross-platform libraries and platform neutral code, you would have to test and debug it under various flavors of Windows, while it would run flawlessly and without stupid "special case" adaptions under all other platforms.
Yes, it sucks on my German keyboard, especially as I do a lot of programming, but having the umlauts next to the Enter key and moving the brackets and slashes to AltGr + Number row seems to make more sense in regard to normal typing.
AFAIK some Eastern European countries which adopted the German layout also have an alternative programming layout where special chars are accessible without shifting. I'm jealous.
He was probably a beginner on an overpowered bike without wearing full protective clothing. That combination calls for disaster. It's best to become confident on a 250 ccm machine for the first year or two. You won't be able to do risky overtake maneuvers and other stunts on a 250, but it's fast enough to easily go along with highway traffic.
Looking at your comment history, I see you are strictly anti-FOSS. Thanks anyway for defaming an informative, rationally written post and sharing your hateful views with us.
Excellent analogy, because - who wouldn't take herpes over AIDS any day? The former may suck a bit sometimes, but the latter will fuck up your whole life.
Must feel sort of uncomfortable there, with the lakes etc. slowly starting to boil and vaporize during midday, as the temperature goes past 100 degrees. So far I thought 42 degrees in southern Spain were really hot...
Was that in the UK? In my experience, they tend to share trends with the US (the language may be the connecting factor). The actual Europe remained rather unimpressed by Apple's hype. It could be purchased here in Germany as part of a T-Mobile contract, but that offer was apparently pulled quickly as it couldn't stand a chance against 100 EUR non-simlocked phones with more features.
Here in Germany, sending SMS is plainly the "normal" means of using a mobile phone. That's probably because there is nothing like a talk flatrate on offer and call prices are obscene, especially if your mobile is of the prepaid kind. If you want to chat for longer than two or three minutes, you better have a good ole landline phone nearby.
If your choice is entirely dependent on opinion, why am I irrational if I tell you now that you are utterly wrong... in my opinion?
All I see is that you are most likely a Windows power user and trying to use Linux exactly like you would use Windows. It won't work and break the system all the time, especially when frequently playing with the CLI as root. The command line won't help you turn Linux into a second-rate Windows knockoff. Just stay away from the CLI until you REALLY know what you do, and accept and use the OS as what it is - Linux, not a Windows substitute.
Nope. I just think they estimated WORLDWIDE market share. Outside of the US, Apple doesn't sell. I live in a large city in Germany and there are exactly zero places selling Macs. In fact, I have never seen a Mac for real. People using Linux on their laptops can be sighted occasionally, however.
Well, they just seem very hesitant to implement a tabbed single-window UI or much better, move to a decent GUI toolkit like Qt.
Put down the crack pipe and get some sleep.

See things positive! "Coward" is a beautiful last name.
I heard that the decline of the brain which starts at 27 makes people occasionally comment on the wrong articles.
I'm almost on my 8th 21st birthday (I think...).
Almost 168 years and you are still posting on Slashdot?

The cure is to remove that American 'operating system'.
I'm more curious how many people would actually install any "fix" that comes from Eastern Europe.
A lot. Eastern Europe is renowned for having spawned many, many extremely good coders and mathematicans.

Where the US isn't on top, someone else makes at least some of the US's monsters.
Fixed that.
Three words: You nailed it.
Pussy. Real men print out TCP packages on paper and let a homing pigeon transmit them.
According to Microsoft , they have a better track-record at fixing bugs faster than Linux.
Do you notice something?

Or like impressing a Frenchman with your tasty British cuisine.
I don't think any sane person can believe that Linux supports the same range of hardware that Windows does, especially in the graphics department.
Yup, and that's because Linux doesn't support the same, but a much larger range of hardware.
If your choice is entirely dependent on opinion, why am I irrational if I tell you now that you are utterly wrong... in my opinion?

So far for my "irrational" rant.

It will be the year - for everyone using a Linux desktop.
