    it seems to me that it is ALWAYS someone you know that decides to "borrow" all of your things while you are away from home. now that i have done what i can to remove all "friends" from my life, my belongings tend to stay where i left them.

    Indeed!!! I was there in Huntsville, TX missing out on all of the goodness of the 'D' grade during the 80's. I was hoping that someone other than me would have experienced the same and read slashdot, also.

    Pressing problems like my drive of 90 miles one-way to work each day. If I only had about $75,000 in cash "money-money", I could pay off my current house and have a decent down payment for a house within walking distance. I don't ask for much. I am a simple man. I wonder if I could just raffle my current house...

    The company I work for makes the parts in what "they call" the hot section of the engine. These are some really awesome materials. I fly a desk so I don't get to play with the goodies.

    hahaha, no, i sure don't. the only real programming i do is CNC programming and i don't think that really counts as real programming.

    the company i work for makes parts for the aerospace, science, and energy industries. we produce parts for civilian and military aircraft and land based power generators. we generally specialize in the 'hot section' of these engines. we have manufactured (formed and electron beam welded) quite a few parts for a certain lab near the chicago area. it is really cool stuff.

    i have heard that the language we speak evolves. the way we write and express ourselves is evolving. might someone prefer to capitalize words with importance rather than words that are nothing more than just a title? of course, i can give very detailed descriptions of what i do and where i work and what i work on, but it would be nothing more than words written cyberspace. anybody here ever EB Weld niobium?

    "missing LESS word processing software" hahahahaha. Yeah. That is what I typed. I guess the humor was too much for you. The massive capitalization was a distraction, perhaps? My UID is high because I lurked for years and posted A/C a few times and figured I shouldn't hide any longer. "Man up" so to speak... I started reading slashdot on a daily basis in 1999.

    How can REMOVING software from an image require testing? How does it make any sense that my computer will become less stable because it is missing LESS word processing software? Brilliant logic perpetuated by the microsoft apologists.
