That's too bad. I have had a ps3 since 2006 and games are played an average of 30 hours per week with lots movie watching thrown in. It is still running strong and cool.
Your $0.02 is not rare because you didn't make a single point.
You don't know what wattage you are pulling? Why spout irrelevant numbers? Watts eventually equally heat.
good job with the 38C - I wish my processor ran that cool.
You should have been modded insightful. How much blame can be placed at the feet of the people telling us how bad everything is? They tell us the end is near so we stop buying and it snowballs. Nobody is buying so no one is producing and blah, blah, blah.
I am not asking for my own special rose-colored glasses, but I'd sure like for the talking heads to show a little constraint once in a while. NO, not censorship. Restraint. Compassion. I know they gotta make their story juicier than the other guys, but jeez. I'm rambling...
The number of FATAL auto crashes is on the DECREASE as newer cars are ever LESS likely to have accidents with FATALITIES.

The statistics seem to disagree with you (unfortunately). I say 'unfortunately' because I drive almost 600 miles per week. I am increasing my chances for an early exit.:~(
from the odd little article:
That's where the hardware limits come in. Besides limits on the screens and hard drives, to be eligible, the systems can have no more than 1G byte of RAM and a single-core processor running at no more than 1GHz.
I, for one, welcome our new comcast overlords.
Not really, I owe them $335 right now and they keep calling me...
Unfortunately, too many people will find this handy and think outloud, "I have nothing to hide."
Where does it end?
I have had the misfortune of being required to deal with 2 different computers recently - both were brand-new with a factory install of Vista (a laptop and a desktop). Blue Screen of Death was the rule and not the exception.
My irrational hatred of MicroSoft is deeply rooted in personal experience.
Could the United States being in a state of recession have anything to do with Vista's slow growth? Just kidding, I know Vista is TERRIBLE.
My karma is bad and I wish it wasn't. I don't want to have bad karma. I am a good person.
i have to know why you don't support the troops. tell me via email or whatever medium you desire. i have to know. if you don't answer my question, well then, i will just have to go on living with the question. hee-hee.
seriously, why don't you support the troops?
I think we are related. Pick me up on your way to the airport.

Looks like my son will get the new ps3 and I will get the hand-me-down old one (4 USB ports, yeah) and keep the linux functionality.
Hell yes. Time to buy ps3 number two. Call me a fanboi all you want, but I love this console.
buzzkill. killjoy. You are no fun at all.
Because using anything less than "Bustadrive" is just asking for a mocking. Come on! The only thing cooler is FIRE!!!

They are going to open source it. (second paragraph): http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2009/07/introducing-google-chrome-os.html
It is the same for Solidworks, also. Us users have been begging for a "save as earlier version" for years.
one of the best comments on /. in a really long time. excellent. of course, my nose is burning now from the coffee expulsion...
Yes, but maybe now is Steve's chance to really branch out.

i agree 100%. sounds like a perfectly reasonable requirement. seriously.
unless there are stipulations placed on the money - tesla is forced to produce a car that is sub $25,000...
Agreed. You are correct and where are my mod points when I need to give them to you?

Good points. Thank you. After I posted I thought, "uh-oh, I was trolling...". I wasn't but I am sure it was perceived that way by some.
...probably would have went HD DVD? Why? I always looked at the specs and could never understand the draw of HD DVD: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_high_definition_optical_disc_formats#Technical_details/
