Because this isn't a list of "best game engines" this is a list of "best games" with stupid descriptions like "oohh look how pretty the gfx are". Any article on best game engines would mention the API, dependencies, how easy it is to work with, etc. This article is just marketing bullshit.

Somehow I don't think Orwell would be troubled by jailing two people hosting a "kill the niggers" website (or whatever it was) then trying to run away to the US claiming "free speech" like rats once they were sentenced in the UK.

In fact I think Orwell a man who fought nazis in the war would be more troubled by assholes like you defending these scumbags. Oh and they come from Yorkshire, the racist county in England, what a surprise!

What you say is nonsense because you still have to network between players. What do you think this is, one humongous server where 1000s of players connect to and all the games are run off it? No. It will be servers located all over the US which have to network between each other. Also you're forgetting the fact that something like a WoW game would be running separate from the rendering servers.

The input would also cause more latency then updating player positions because a player position update happens once every X ms however if I continuously keep rapid fire pressing buttons it's going to generate far more packets of data. Even xbox controllers have mods which make controller presses extremely fast without user intervention.

It doesn't even benefit game companies because it basically hands all the control over to the console manufacturer that can pull your game at any moment forbidding your consumers from being able to play it.

You're diverting my point. The Parent said "being passionate about gaming is definitely a plus in making great games".

You can't make a game without knowledge. You CAN make a game (and a good game too) without passion, and I'm sure there are a whole lot of game coding slaves out there that will agree with me.

In fact anyone who has worked on a game will tell you that it's 99% back breaking work. Sure you can say passion will help you keep it together but like I said before, that's why the industry uses it all the time to dupe people into burning out for almost no financial incentive.
