    When they graduate, the debt is so hefty that the students are stuck living in their parents' basement for 10 years until they've paid it all off. I can tell you from personal experience that there's some real truth to the hangover.

    Going to court over DRM isn't frivolous and as a game developer myself I disagree with your "starving developer's families" speech. In fact I'd go so far to say that it makes you sound quite ignorant.

    First time offenders and repeat offenders shouldn't be mixed in prisons, I think that would help a lot and would have the rehabilitation attitude for the first timers.

    No, nothing that harms industry is going to come out of this, I only see bad things for consumers.

    For example, do you honestly think the government is going to turn around to businesses and say "We're getting rid of software patents, now all those millions you have invested are useless, but thanks for the cash".

    Lawsuits are the best option, no company likes going to court and it gets this information out to the public who might know anything about DRM.

    It legitimises the whole thing as well, instead of making it look like a bunch of nerds that are bitching because they can't pirate anymore it shows REAL pissed off consumers that don't want this crap on their computers.

    Hopefully with enough lawsuits they'll be a law outlawing this practice. I'm really sick of how programmers are allowed to get away with anything they want because it's their program. There needs to be more ethics in the software industry as a whole.

    Class action lawsuits "bite you in the ass" because of increased pricing, however you say that lost sales because people refuse to purchase has no effect? What?!

    This is the whole point of android, so that you don't have to do that anymore.

    Android is going to be running on different phones, processors and architectures so making an app in C++ for the phone means it's only going to work on that one phone, defeating the whole point of cross platform for phone manufacturers.

    and also to be honest, fuck Symbian, the bringers of software patents to the UK. fuck them in the ass with a hot iron rod, everything they touch turns to shit so I hope they don't get anywhere near this. ..and last but not least you can in fact do c apps on android however for the above reasons it's pointless to do so.

    Nonsense, GP was talking about X not working because they screwed up the xorg.conf file.

    Nvidia xserver settings, Screen Resolution app, Resoultion switchers.. If one doesn't work something else will, problem is that you start down the road of editing x.org then apps won't work.

    Screen Resolution app in Ubuntu won't work if you edit the conf file as a good example.
