they're email search is fast. google fast. even if youre searching 10,000 messages, with 1,000 returns, it's still fast. though it doesnt offer an export option....
you know favicons make your bookmarks.html file HUGE, right? each one adds 5-15+ lines of code. full set would make a 1mb bookmark.html into a 5mb bookmark.html. which makes everything s...l...o...w.
organize your bookmarks intelligently, and they're easy to sort through. i've got a 1mb bookmark file (around 6000 bookmarks), and can find anything quickly.
the main thing is keeping a max size per folder. i've got 5 folders in root, and 3-8 folders in each of those, and 3-10 items/folders in each of those (and so on). bookmar file raw and also in a javascript sidebar (mimicing firefox sidebar).
it expands organically. when a folder grows too large, it gets split into subclasses. follow your own naming conventions, or use dmoz for ideas.

nooooo, java is Evil. i just did exactly that upgrade, and Really regret it. now everytime mozilla visits a java app'd page, whole system turns sluglike until i reboot.
a Ca$170 chair from Staples. Am very happy with it.
improvements on the previous office chair were:
-shorter seat. having 2" clearance behind my knees, instead of none, means i get up and wheel about more easily.
-smaller wheelbase.
-detachable and/or adjustable arms. not part of structure, and only a single post holding them up, so less to get in the way of cushions or jackets etc. wish they were padded though.
-adjustable seat tilt
-seperate adjustable back tilt.
-both with an any-angle tilt-lock.
-adjustable height back. puts the foam spine shape seatback to match how im slouching/sitting that hour..
and i tried an aeron. if it were half as cheap i still wouldnt be impressed by its comfort. maybe its better for fat people?
go to your local office store and try out a dozen. then try the 3 best again, and name the factors that you like about each. continue frrom there..
i like Scanner. pie charts format.

add to your user.js:
// Disable Bookmark Icons, otherwise bookmark.html becomes huge
user_pref("browser.chrome.site_icons", false);
user_pref("browser.chrome.favicons", false);
a wireless trackball could be mounted in your captain's chair armrest...
now you are able to push the chair away from the desk, tilt back, put feet up, and browse the web in comfort...
easy, add this to your user.js file
( "browser.startup.homepage", "http://www.google.com/");
user_pref("browser.startup.homepage", "file:///E:/directory/file.html");
or
user_pref
then next through with impunity

solution (in 4th post). solution in an extension, and discussion.
why does it use the windows startbutton icon in the taskbar? is there an extension/hack to change it?
if you have lots of bookmarks, then using favicons can severely bulk up your bookmarks.html file. 40mb bookmark files are NOT FUN.
add these lines to your user.js to get rid of all site icons.
// Disable Bookmark Icons
user_pref("browser.chrome.site_icons", false);
user_pref("browser.chrome.favicons", false);
(though it wont clean the code for known icons out of bookmarks.html)
