I even once heard of someone using a new-fangled contraption, they called it "asking someone". I don't trust it mind you, none of that crazy technology for me thank you.
well, from my example I'm either on route A or route B... whether I'm at tree #57802 or rock outcrop #378 is kinda unimportant, the road only goes north or south and keeps going north or south for a total of about 200km.
"For those in rural areas or people who spend hours in their car every day, we believe the investment in a dedicated satnav device or software will still pay off,"
really? I grew up in a rural area, and I spent hours in a car commuting because things were so far away... and I question this. There were two possible routes south from my hometown, one was about 150km to the closest big down, the other route was about 250km to the same place.
gee, hard choice there, better get out the GPS...
The more rural the area, the fewer route choices, and thusly the less importance a GPS due to the lack of choice.
slang changes. Chalkboards always were chalkboards where I grew up, confused the hell out of me when I heard people calling them blackboards (they are green damn it!). Changing locations, changing demographics, new generations, all of them can change slang.
I prefer that method. I like being able to look at a news site once a day, scan for what I want, and be done with it./. is actually the only "as it happens" site I read because I simply can't keep up... I have stuff to do.
and political honesty it takes to be able to admit publically that you were wrong and you've changed your mind.
when have you honestly seen that happen? I've seen them change their minds left and right, but I've never yet heard one say they were wrong and why they have changed thir mind (the only time I've heard one say "I was wrong" was when they got caught in Italy with a rent-a-boy after trying to engrain anti-GLBT language into the constitution)
and dropping all your calls with a swanky looking phone is a-ok?
Even with apple, function does have to come before form.

I looked at it, most of the pics are of a similar quality to APOTD. Just splice in a large amount of black space between them and the occasional white pixel and you basically have what MS put out.
If you want to look at cool stuff, look at APOTD, if you want to look at cool stuff surrounded by black void, look at the MS thing.

no no no... see that would not get them to spend more money. $50 off a $300 phone will... the whole point is that you want to get them to spend more money for buying another product to replace the one you made the "settlement" for.
The LAST thing you want is for them to be able to just use the crappy product, that doesn't get you any money.
One, Apple currently has the substantial majority of 3rd party developers, and many of the ones considered to be doing the best work.
the question is, for how long... those I know who do iPhone development are getting progressively more and more nervous of suddenly getting the ban-hammer and losing months/years of development manhours for no other reason then Apple decided they didn't like what they were doing anymore.
Most of them (for all the anecdotal evidence that entails) are looking long and hard at other markets... sure, you can make a mint on the iphone, but only until your app gets banned for one reason or another, then you are out all that development time. All those banned apps and changing goalposts are taking their toll on the confidence of 3rd party devs.
I'm going to try and avoid sounding like a bit from the Four Yorkshiremen for moment but... "luxury".
Our dirt roads come in two types: the kind that stard and end at the main highway (big look) and the kind that dead-end in the bush.
When I said there were two ways south, I meant including all the dirt roads, paved roads, deer paths, you name it.
so does a speedometer and gradeschool level math.
or, like the very non-average /.er, she grew up in the back end of nowhere and actually knows just how witty and sharp those "hicks" can be ;)
the fewer people to ask, the fewer routes you have to deal with... the more routes that you can get lost on the more people around.
Actually, northern Ontario. Hundreds of km of trees in nearly every directions.

where do I sign to force the US to inact hate-speech and GLBT marriage laws?

but a 90% reduction in ad revenue is a right kick in the head.
there needs to be a +5 horrifying

By the time they class action is done, all the customer is likely to see will be a $50 credit on their next iPhone.
WTB +6 hell yes!
I only listen to Radio-KOL and rarely look at google news....
Streisand effect.. I never heard of the review until they made such a stink trying to keep me from hearing about the review.
