    This was released about a week ago. Saying that, I just clicked the 'Check for updates' in the Help menu and it said a new version (4.0 Beta 1) is available - the same version I've been using for a week. I updated, and the only change I can see is the addition of the Feedback menu next to my APB and LastPass menus.

    You're wrong there mate. On our corporate intranet there's a section of javascript that's 256k in size. IE6 (corporate standard) takes about 20 seconds to load that while Firefox loads it instantly. It's not about how fast the Javascript is received, it's about how fast it's rendered.

    Sure MS might suck as a corporation, and release dodgy software and charge more then acceptable for it, but their hardware division is actually quite good. I have plenty of MS hardware and it [i]is[/i] good quality, far better than the software. Don't paint all their products with the same brush.

    The only thing preventing is their own population. I just don't think they would tolerate becoming prisoners in the their own nation.

    They are prisoners in their own nation. They are not tolerating it. Hence the protests. Sure the fundamentalists have a solid backing among the populace but the rigged elections and censorship of protests show it is not as solid as they need to maintain power fairly.

    It doesn't matter if they block TOR or just websites, they are still censoring what their people can see and read.

    You are using comparing HDD's in a Clariion to your SSD's. Not a very fair comparison. Why not compare your box to a Symmetrix V-Max with SSD's, or even a DMX with SSD's. What you've done is like sticking a Ferrari engine into a Lada and compared it to say a Ford Focus and saying that your's wins. Just because your engine is faster doesn't mean your product is better.

    Capacity is still an issue though. Although in enterprise storage SSDs offer a lower cost per transaction and provide a real benefit, they still have massive amounts of HDDs for storage on the lower tier. Outside of work where I would be classed as a standard consumer, it would cost me far, far too much to buy enough SSDs to transfer my 4TB of data from my HDDs.

    No, not socialist. Fianna Fail - the majority ruling party - are centre right and have been shifting further right for years due to the influence of the Progressive Democrats party. While in power they sold off most of the state and semi-state companies, while outsourcing to private companies things that they should be looking after themselves. Letting private companies build hospitals on land of a public hospital is not socialism! Letting private companies charge us tolls to use roads that were built with our tax money is not socialism! I could go on for pages. Jesus fucking christ I hate this country...

    Just remember that if you're building a golf site then stick to IE6 compatibility for the corporate users or you exclude practically your whole market.

    Java sucks. It's slow and a resource hog. It just doesn't feel 'right' when using programs made from it.

    On the other hand, I've never really had a problem with any .net apps that I've used.

    Sure Java might be more open but as a user I'm going to use what is better for me - not what's better for the developers.

    It's an automatic fail for me...

    I live in Ireland, and quite often I like to search only within Ireland. Google and Yahoo detects that I'm in Ireland. Bing automatically redirects to the UK. ROI != UK
