  1. Re:Other than the symbolic part on Social Media As a Weapon In Egypt · · Score: 2

What is the actual purpose on doing DDoS attacks on some rarely visited government web sites? If people want to actually change things, they should really go out and protest against the government rather than sitting behind the safety of their monitors clicking endlessly until some crappy configured server goes down.

During the past years the Egyptian government tried to reduce bureaucracy (which is huge) and corruption (imho) by introducing a lot of services e.g. authoring certificates, accessible from Internet. This was a big project in collaboration with Microsoft. So I suppose that by doing DDoS attacks on these websites the governmental sector will halt.

p.s. Apologies if it has been mentioned before in this thread.

Maybe the EULA explicitly states that because Activision wants to stop 3rd companies from creating controllers for the game without getting a licence. 3rd companies can create unlicensed controllers but if users are not allowed to use them they are not going to buy them (at least that's the legal way). Anyway Activision may license controllers which are designed for impaired players free of charge or for very low fee.

Sorry but saying that socialist/communists countries are not civilized is way wrong. socialist/communist may be or maybe not civilized. Also capitalist may be or may be not civilized. May I remind you of Guandanamo prison among others?
Anyway I believe that the definition of "Civilized country" is debatable. In my humble opinion and according to what I believe is civilized there are very few countries which match with the term.

  15. Opera took some wrong decision on A Talk With Opera CEO · · Score: 1

I believe that opera is not very popular now because of decisions they made in the past, some of which have not changed up to now. To be more specific when the need of a new browser rose since Internet Exploder stalled, there were two options available for the WinPC platform: Opera and Firefox. Back then Opera had features that Firefox never dreamed of and an amazing eyecandy interface. But it had the biggest minus one such thing could have. You had to pay for it or else you would surf having an annoying advertisement bar hovering all over the place.
The second wrong decision which in the beginning was not so important but as firefox started to improve seemed more and more visible was the combination of open source/extensibility. At the moment there are addons in firefox not so important for my browsing experience but useful nonetheless such as weatherfox. Not to talk about extensions which really improve one's browsing experience such as noscript.

At the end of the day one can conclude that Opera while pioneer in browsing platform lost the momentum to firefox when world's biggest internet market - WinPC - demanded something new. I hope for the sake of users that Opera will not do the same mistake, since we need Opera to be around with all the great features they keep inventing.
(My self i use Firefox over Opera for almost one reason. The ability to select piece of text, right click on it, select search with google and firefox opens a new tab for the search instead of the same)
