I guess I don't get the whole thing with filing patent cases in East Texas. A poster a few comments above said Federal Judges in E. Texas seem to favor patent plaintiffs. Seems odd - somebody has got to be seeding the panel of judges, and it has to be for the purpose of making money on patent law suits. It wouldn't shock me if some law firm was giving huge election contributions to biased politicians to get these biased judged appointed. Follow the money - and you'll probably find out why E. Texas is how it is in regards to patent law.
You can't trust those Somali princes. This high speed fiber is great news, I can send my bank account numbers to my Nigerian prince friend much faster!
Maybe you guys missed my silly point. What I described is the same thing as what phones were originally designed to do, send and receive voice. Having a voice to txt to voice feature is foolish. My attempt at humor.;)
It would be great if someone wrote a voice app that allowed you to dicate text messages to your friends, since typing on those little keypads can be a pain.
And it would be even cooler if your friends' phones had a voice app that could then dictate the text message back through the phone's speaker.
That would be a great set of apps for a phone, I hope someone comes up with it:p (Yuk Yuk)
Yeah really - and think of the waste. I bet tons of those chargers get thrown out every year. x2 if people buy another one for in the car.
Just use a mini-usb plug for charging and data. Then all you'll ever need to charge any phone would be a USB cable. If you want to use a wall charger, get a usb to 110V (or whatever for your locale's electrical system). For your car, just get a usb to 12V.
Next step...do that for every small electronic device. That would be great.
I'd have to agree there. Simply using OSS stuff in the enterprise is giving back in a way. Many times they release some of their source code for free.
But it would be nice if big IT companies that develop some of their stuff on the back of opensource gave some donations back to the projects they use.
I always see licenses included in EULAs of enterprise products for open source stuff, like OpenSSL, Perl, and Apache.
So they can try to bitch slap the iPhone!
Also - how does one 'pre-install' web based apps? I suppose you can have a special mobile client app, but all you need is a browser.
I think racing an electric vehicle is the best way to advance the development of them.
Most of the automotive innovation in safety and performance we have today was developed from racing.
In racing, they need to figure out how to get the most range from a battery, how to recharge/replace the battery very quickly, and how to get the sweet spot of power/efficiency to be able to hang with gas race cars.
All of these are very real world problems. Most of us don't need a 4 second battery change, but 5 minutes would be pretty sweet, comparable to refuel.
I'm glad he pushed the guy. That's the approach that should be taken with every police stand off with a suicidal person.
Instead of wasting hours of the police's time and tax payer money, just pull the trigger for him.
How much does your country suck if you want to go to prison because having a toilet in you cell is considered "fantastic"?
It's easy to forget how good we have it in the US
It was a reference to Jurassic park - maybe I misquoted, but I think that was their solution for any parts of the DNA that could not be extracted from the mosquito encased in hardened amber.
I have a dual boot with Windows so I can play games. Once I found UrbanTerror, Warsow, and Nexiuz (all free games, all cross platform on Linux, Mac, and Windows based on the Quake3 engine) I booted into my already rarely used Windows even less.
I only use Windows if I want to get one of the latest and greatest games only made for Windows.
There are lots of great, free, cross platform games coming out. They might not be the blockbuster titles that are out there, but there are still pretty awesome.
Ha - Nice!
How much is enough? Surely they're already taxed for data center/office real estate and utilities, income tax, and probably scores of other taxes that come with running a company with a global presence.
But, since google is US based, most of those taxes probably go to the US gov't

East Texas laws need to be locked down to prevent the BS from happening.

You're all violating my patent for "An apparatus that performs an action for the purpose of doing something"
I'm going to sue everyone and everything!
Whoa did you see that? It looked like a hog that had taken flight!
Maybe it was just Homer Simpson's pig roast gone awry again.

Sweet Guinea Pig of Winnipeg!
Or gentoo portage.
/etc/make.conf
;) I love it though :)
emerge....compile...edit config files
Realize you forgot a USE flag
Edit
It's simple!
And IE6 will go away quickly.
Stop doing the hacks, and let IE6 render them ugly and broken, while compliant browsers will render them correctly.

Lame - that looks like it was lifted from a greeting card.

Yeah - and any missing DNA can just be taken from common frog species!

Yeah - curried lawnmower is awful.
So true. Europe is years ahead of the US for cell service, and Japan, forget about it.
