imo amarok is pretty bloated, as is much of the standard KDE stuff. try quodlibet, it has all the features you need and a much leaner interface...
With an Open Source scanner at least one can be sure there is no policeware whitelist...

Who says these viruses have to be indiscriminate? could they not attack specific cells only? Don't know very much about biology...
