As I have said before, Oppo (http://www.oppodigital.com/) makes a great upconverting DVD player. It plays good ol' DVD's at 1080p on my set at home. There are very few times I have seen any problems with the playback and those were not bad enough for everyone watching to notice. I only noticed because I was looking for them. So, for now I am not going to worry about either for a long time.
I agree. I don't see how they can get any worse from last years predictions. I think they said there would be 16 or more major storms and there was only one. Sounds like that satellite should have already come down, it's not working very well!
Can we give him 65 years, please? For those who say murders and rapists get less, then let's all agree to a mandatory death penalty for rape and murder and then give him 65 years.
Why does everyone refuse to acknowledge that Katrina was so bad because the levees in New Orleans failed. Other than that, this was no worse than past hurricanes.
Katrina was only proof it is bad to live below sea level.
I caled my ISP to get my usenet account working. The people I talked to had no idea what I was talking about.
Me: I can't seem to login to the newsgroup server.
Them: Um, what is that, email?
Me: No. It is newsgroups.
Them: I don't think we have that.
Me: No usenet access at all? Your website says different.
Them: Um, usenet...?
Me: Yeah, newsgroups.
Them: Hold on please.
After a short break on hold.
Them: Sir, OK, we have newsgroup access but not usenet access.
Me: OK, then just setup my newsgroup access.
This is great, now stores need another piece of equipment they will have to buy. Also, what about down time? If the device that unlocks the DVD is down, no sales. This just hurts the people who are actually buying them.
Why should I turn off the water while I shave or brush my teeth? That seems bad to me. The way I see it, the more water I put down the drain while brushing my teeth, the less concentrated the pollutants. This is a win for the water table, correct?
There are two different pricing models in China, one for the Chinese and one for the "tourist". Even their tourist prices are very low. I had a hard time comprehending this at first. I could not believe I could actually buy a fake Rolex for about $2 USD. I would like to say that yes, this was a fake watch, but it was (and still is) a very good watch. This is not one of those Times Square, cheapo ticking second hand piece of crap. Hell, I would have paid more if it didn't say Rolex on it. Never had a problem with it.
As far as pollution, goes, I have never seen worse. I got into Nanjing and it was raining. The guy who picked me up said it was a nice thing it was raining, so I could see the building, etc. I didn't understand that until the next afternoon, when the poluttion was back and you could only see 1 or 2 blocks.
I was in China a year ago and I saw several of these cars. They are very good reproductions. Some were exact, minus the logo on the grill. You probably saw some, but just didn't realize it.
This sounds like all the treaties the U.S. almost gets bullied into, like the Kyoto. In fact, they don't really care about any real results, but who is going to pay for their phony jobs. I've been to China and seen how polluted it is. To think they have a pass on reducing their emission level is absurd. This is as fucking stupid as buying energy credits to make you have a better carbon footprint.
Why did he not have a problem for the 2 years it was run by someone else? It is not like they just found out that it was out there. They knew and used it, now they want to push this guy out of the way. You can't have it both ways.
I don't see this as HP trying to catch up, but evolve their business model to fit many corporate models. Where I work we now have printers all over the place, sometimes 2 in one office (for 2 people). The company realizes that it cost a lot of money to keep paper and toner for all these printers. So, now we need to track the per page printing, that is where this fits in. It is full circle, remember the RJE departments from 15 - 20 years ago?
We won't stay put? I am sick of every yankee coming to Texas and bitching about how backwards we are. Then they won't leave, saying they can't find work where they came from. And we are the backwards ones who don't know anything?
Yes, Santa Anna did win at the Alamo. He did not do so well at San Jacinto a little less than 2 months later.
That makes me feel better!
I am glad to see that none of the Bush bashers here on /. have ever made a mix tape/CD and let someone else listen to it. That would be a shame.

I got an HDVT and got an upconverting DVD player and watch DVD's. Good enough quality for me.

I disagree 110%*. Also, if we change our customs now then the terrorists have already won!
* Note: 110% guarantee is limited to 100% due to limitations on percentages

I am a Southern Baptist, and have never spoken in tounges in my life. I have never seen it done in any SBC I have been in.

The ironic thing here is that it is not a state given right, but rather a God given right.

If they had nothing to hide, what are they worried about. Sounds like we need to look at the journalists a little closer.
OK, maybe not.

What I want to know is how they got that far with SOX auditing? We have to verify EVERYTHING for them.
Yum, Dr. Pepper from the Dublin, TX plant.

To get my money back, yes. It should be free.
what, both parties are aginst immigration, they just don't have the balls to say they are.
Did they put the deleted emails in thier socks?

I hate to let the facts get in the way of your US/Texas bashing but Texas was actually a republic for ten years.
