There aren't any other bands like them right now, period.
If you insist, but they sure don't sound original to me.
Also, an indie band better than Def Leppard? Please send me the name because if you're right (I doubt it), then I will be your best friend, no joke about it.
Well, if you mean old Def Leopard then there probably isn't much indie stuff out there that's better. But there is Neurosis, and, um, I'm sure there other stuff I can't think of off the top of my head.
I'm sorry, but yes there are bands as good as the three you mention who are on indie labels. Certainly there are indie bands that are better than the three you list. I'd never heard Muse before so I went and had a listen. They sound like about a hundred other bands I've heard live, but with higher production values. Most people don't understand that this is the major difference between the indies and and the majors, production costs. And honestly, I can do without the overproduced crap that is the vast, vast majority of major label releases.
How the fuck can you possibly believe that? If it wasn't biological in basis it would-not-happen. Period.
Yeah, like how democracy isn't biological in basis and it doesn't happen?
But to claim it is somehow "not biological" (so what is it, magic?) is fucking ridiculous.
It could be, you know, social. But really, if biology and magic are the only ways you see for things to happen then there must be a lot of magic in the world.
And your evidence for this is what exactly, other than your person incredulity? Every one of the suppliers for the XO's parts has a profit motive.
Well, there is the fact that the XO is sold by a non-profit and it uses an OS that costs no money, so it makes sense to say that anyone selling such a computer will be able to undercut the prices of a company making money on both the OS and the hardware.
And anyone who has more than a few months of experience in economics knows that the third world is fairly inelastic in their demand for computers so this argument is complete nonsense because these people simply cannot buy a $500 computer.
Which is exactly the problem. The OLPC program wants children to have access to computers for educational uses. Microsoft and Intel want to make money, which they will likely not be able to do in the long run, at the prices the XO goes for. Which means that their best bet is to run it out of town then hike prices and leave out a big segment of the society. But those people don't really count as they don't have money.
The whole point is that the less commonly used irregular verbs are more likely to become regularized. It might be different with spelling, but I doubt we'll see much of it in print given the way we have standardized spelling over the past hundred or two hundred years.
Total crap. The Arab world was at its scientific height under Muslim rule and is the only reason the west has the science it has.
The scientific establishment need to recognize that it did ot arise separate from the rest of the world, the Islaamicc world was centuries aahead of the west for quite a long time.
If we refuse them entry based on racist assumptions and we have economic policies which unduly effect their countries then I think it is certainly the case that we have racist immigration policies.
I'm sorry but token recognition of past atrocities doesn't get you off the hook for present inequities. The fact is that our immigration policies have always been racist, not because we don't allow everyone over the border but because we consistently discriminate against specific races. Look at the way we treat Arabs in term of immigration now, you're going to tell me that isn't racist? My description of where you were coming from wasn't suppose to mean you're a racist prick, though I don't know you so you could be, it was a comment on the racist mindset we Americans espouse. We try to convince ourselves that we're past all that racism and that there aren't any problems with it all the while killing and imprisoning and restricting people to whom we would not otherwise do these things were it not for the color of their skin.
Better than racist prick land where the poster I was responding to apparently resides. That or happily accept the oppressive status-quo land where all the "reasonable" people like you are.
That doesn't mean they shouldn't be upheld. If the laws are unjust, sure, change them, but don't throw the laws that we have out the window. Law is supposed to mean something.
Unjust laws should certainly not be obeyed. Law only means something when it's just, not simply because it has been voted into effect.
There's a certain reality here that is being, so far as I can tell, completely ignored by all the pro-H1B, pro-amnesty crowd. A couple of points, 1. We have laws regarding immigration. They should be followed, because they were put into place a long, long time ago and for good reason. We ignore them at our peril and 2. We want people that have become assimilated into our culture, that are as much a part of our way of life as possible. Assimilation is a process, and is one that takes time. It's important, assimilation is, and it is why we don't just hand out citizenships to everyone that wants one. No matter how intelligent, how educated, how talented you are, we want you to be one of us. This not a uniquely American ideal either: all nations expect that their citizens be loyal to their country, whether they were born there or not. Japan, for example, is particularly concerned with those of foreign birth, whom they permit to call themselves "Japanese". The insist that those individuals be as truly Japanese as humanly possible.
This is wrong on so many levels. First, the laws on immigration were put into force a long, long time ago for horribly racist reasons. I assume you are ignorant of this fact for the alternative is that you approve of racist exclusionary laws. Second, what is this "culture" of which you speak? I assume you mean, as most people do when speaking of American culture, while male middle-class culture. Yes, you can all come to the U.S. as long as you act exactly like we say and believe the right things, because this is the land of freedom, where you're free to act like everyone else does! Most of all I disappointed that anyone would use the "everyone else does it" excuse. The Japanese also invaded China and slaughtered hundreds of thousands of people, does that make it OK for us to do so as well? I think not.
You really need to understand that unchecked immigration is a death sentence for any society.
Yes, I suppose you have some proof of that. Or just more unsupported polemic.
The United States is the most powerful nation on the face of the earth and you're going to sit and whine about "the foreigners" coming and invading our country. The borders of the United States are a creation of people by means of force, there's no way you can tell me that makes them morally right.
The dissolution of the USSR happened the same year as the First Gulf War. It was already on its way down and Afghanistan, the graveyard of conquerors for thousands of years, that was the biggest cause. The Ruskies just really wanted a warm water port in Pakistan.
Only if you're in Alabama.
In other words, "I'm a smug asshole and you're all inferior to me."
Not all, just the Windows users.
There aren't any other bands like them right now, period.

Go reread Nietzsche, you clearly didn't understand.
A dead woman would do better than Clinton?
That's pretty harsh.

Eink Screens are available on the Sony reader, The Hanlin V3 and V8 and the iLiad. They just don't have the cell service included.
It was a joke!
Chill. I don't see why people get so annoyed at idiomatic usages.
because he doesn't care enough to make the effort.
Did you read the article?
The whole point is that the less commonly used irregular verbs are more likely to become regularized. It might be different with spelling, but I doubt we'll see much of it in print given the way we have standardized spelling over the past hundred or two hundred years.
Yes, I cry and cry when people forget the Harvard comma.
Oh wait, no I don't, it's a useless extra comma that isn't necessary.

Well, I can't break immigration law, I'm a citizen. But I see no reason for others to respect it when American immigration laws are so racist.

Clearly it is the first development towards our steampunk future.
I for one...
Um, let's just say I like the steampunk.
It's like how the newspaper companies force you to read the classifieds.
