water wheels traditionally need a mill run, and a drop. I'm basically on a lake that has a lot of moving water... and no hill to make the water drop from.
perhaps I worded the title incorrectly.. I don't want to completely disconnect from the grid.. just not be dependent on it because it craps out all the time.
that's been my plan, stay on the grid, if for nothing more than backup, and as another poster said, selling electricity back to the grid would be nice too:)
It really depends on the winter.. this past winter we had enough ice my crazy neighbors were driving their golf cart around on it, and I saw people cross country skiiing acrossed it.
other winters you could always break the ice.. so it varies wildly.
this sounds like a wonderful idea. I already have a floating dock, so I figure an addition to make the dock stick out a little futher... and adding waterwheel might work great!
I think you can IM any AT&T 10 digit phone number d it will send them an SMS that can be replied to via an SMS... I don't think that works for T-mobile ( haven't tested recently ).
I may be making this up, but I seem to remember that being commented on in the book, but the decision was made to use females because they were bigger and more impressive to park visitors, even against the decisions of the scientists trying to build some of these safeguards in.
or I just made that up. it's been a long time since I've read the book.
or as another explaination, maybe there were some wierd plasma, that was held together by electromagnetic force... though the water droplets probably makes more sense...
my understanding is, once we learned how to make them, we learned how to look for them, and they show up all over the place. lots of ash from wood fires have buckyballs in them, for instance.
last time I spoke with T-Mobile, they had a 14 trial on the contract, that if you weren't happy, you returned to phone, only paying for the minutes you used.
sounded fair to me... not sure what the rate you were charged for those minutes is though..
why does the PIM need to be part of the office suite? It doesn't make sense.. everything else is managing documents, PIMs are calendaring and email (why those to are shoehorned together is another post entirely..).
Get your pim elsewhere. There are TONS of options these days.
I'm purchasing at 2004 Prius, and the 0-30 acceleration is VERY good, but it loses some umph in to 30-60 range, because that's when the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) kicks in for a boost.. I think up until 52 mph, you're usually just on the electric system.
that is where the complain comes from though.
From my test drives of the 2003 Prius, this is not as bad as the accelerator of a 4 cycle ICE automatic... in fact, I thought it was quite better.
and given that the 2004 is more powerful, AND more fuel efficient, I think it should definitely be a consideration if you're looking at a new car.

I really don't have any hard numbers, but this part of the river I'm talking about is called "Lake Aldred" and is between to large hydroelectric dams.
any suggestions on a good way to measure water speed?
this is kind of what I'd like to do.. but I'm just not sure of the engineering needed to stick this under my dock.
Bingo, that's the problem with everyone saying "ah, just put a pipe in the river. I have no where to pipe to..
and I live on a steady diet of government cheese.

If only I had a hill.. I've only got about 100m of river front, and there is not a lot of drop.
I was young when he told me these definitions so it was awkward when I used them in colloquial intercourse and had to define them every time.
I bet this is why you are constantly being told you talk too much while having sex.
there is a game that does just about all of this. I think only the wind effect is missing.
Day of Defeat, a halflife mod does a great job at integrating snipers into the game, without them being over powered. it's very well balanced.

that might explain all those people calling to say the T1 isn't working.... :)
What good is a CD Burner if it chunks 20% of your discs?
I love word problems!
*ahem*
80% good.
oh dear no... you'll put all those Indians out of work!

ah, baggypants... what great fun. we too did this at a place I used to work.
what this? when did i mention paying for it?

where did you order it? I haven't been able to find a dealer in PA or MD willing to take an order from me yet!
