    Observation of the orbit of Mercury doesn't match prediction from the Newtonian model. It does match general relativity.

    from what I read, the backup only gets "restored" if the plant is stressed. this would allow for error correction, but allow "happy accidents" to advance the species.

    I wonder how small of a differential GPS transmitter you can build. carry one with you and you and it can always be reporting you as being in the "correct" location.

    ah, but the key is, the total ammount of carbon tons available on the market will gradually be reduced. this treaty isn't about immediate change, it's about slowing down damage, and then gradually undoing the damage.

    the palms this wifi card support have fully functional web browsers, and IM client, and even ssh. I use all those almost daily on my T3, bluetooth connected to my cellphone.

    My 2004 Prius's last 4 tanks of gas averaged to about 50.5 mpg, mainly highway driving.

    If I do a lot of city driving, I get 55-60 mpg.

    true, in colder weather I am usually at 45 mpg, but that is only a few months out of the year.

    I think the true benefit of hybrid tech right now is, pushing the use of electrical system in automobiles, while still being able to fuel up at a regular pump. In 7-10 years when I'll be looking to replace my prius, the battery pack and the whole Internal Combustion Engine will be able to replaced in a new car with hydrogen fuel cells.

    the Shatner Twilight episode airs all the time, and has no anti-Japanese themes. You're thinking of the George Takei Twilight Zone episode. And while possibly racist, the acting in this episode is quite good.

    because you wouldn't know which photons contain the data. as soon as you touch it, the other end knows it's datastream has been tampered with.

    that may be a possibility, but I think in order to get the power I'd need, the wheel would need to be huge. The possibilties some of the submersible generators seem to be what I'm leaning towards, because I'm sure a undershot waterwheel on a floating platform wouldn't work so well in the winter.
