key right there is you said "memorize." that's what is wrong, right there.
when faced with non-standard notation we should be able to just figure it out.
/. says "Spoiler-free"
First line of article says "spoiler-light."
I'm glad they said that so I could stop reading and save myself the blind rage I would have been in.
It's called the trickle down effect.
When cars were first made they were toys for the wealthy. Now every schmo thinks they are entitled to own 4 wheels and an engine. It doesn't matter how much electric cars cost, if they are made the technology will eventually become common enough for everyone to have it.
There is no legislation at the state level. Not much anyway. Some states allow state-wide franchise rights for cable companies.. Texas is the only one I know of off the top of my head.
Mostly it's all done at the municipal level.
Cable companies have franchise rights with counties or cities. The reason Comcast has the big cities in your area is because they could afford to deal with those cities.
Cable companies are in an odd position. They have to lay all the infrastructure and give it to the local government. It's what local government requires as the cost of doing business for the cable ops. Then the city sets a ceiling on prices and requirements.
If a city wanted they could require the cable company to charge $5 a month for basic + HBO. Obviously the cable company could just say screw you, we're out.
How is this insightful?
You can sell the old game if you get banned. They aren't linking to game serials they are banning accounts and player profiles.
You drop an EA install into another system and DRM permitting it will install... person makes a new account and BAM they're in business.
The problem is this... there *is* HD over analog. It's your component video inputs.
That's what berashith is talking about.
HD thought analog over-the-air broadcast is not available in the States.
The problem is media outlets need to explain what an ATSC tuner is and how to get one if you don't already have one.
I work for a TV station and it is a daily battle with viewers and the powers that be to straighten it out.
Not really. Most women don't like techie stuff, just as most men don't like flower arranging...... Please, please take notice of the "most"s there.
So what you're saying is that most men like techie stuff (please define "techie stuff") and that most women like flower arranging? That's beyond idiotic.
Did I ever say it was as easy as rabbit ears? Damn... some one is argumentative today.
Easy to set up as in plug in a receiver and get a used dish... it's not for the faint of heart but the average/. user should be able to handle it.
Just to clarify.. he's talking about the satellites that providers use to get the content... not satellites like Dish and DirecTV.
I wish more people knew about free over air satellite transmissions. Receivers are cheap.. like $100. The trick is setting up the dish right and being patient enough for the dish to aim each time you change the channel.
I agree with your saying Rock Band seems more like the true sequel to GH2.
I tried GH3 at a friend's house. It just feels like button mashing to me.
All the way back to Frequency.. Harmonix games feel like I'm actually creating music.
When I saw the track list for GH3 I about died with glee.. but then I realized it was being published by Activision... who also published the disappointing Guitar Hero Rocks the 80s.
I used to shoot drives with my SKS... the 7.62x39 puts a nice hole straight through them but I've had a scary ricochet before..223 psshh... the bullet gets lodged in them.
I've always been afraid to try handgun rounds... I like to be far away from what I'm hitting if it's metal on metal.
Don't forget that in commercial products there are expenses outside of materials.
Your.38$ per GB system was cheap because you didn't have to mass produce it... and also didn't mind developing and configuring it for free. It's cheap to make a one-off or very limited production item. It costs a bundle to develop the *systems* to design and assemble a similar item for mass production (would your system have cost the same had you been contracted to build it?)... then achieving super cheap production costs.
If your first computer had less than 4GB of HD space that doesn't make you old... it makes you a young'n.
If your computer had a hard drive at all you can gtfo my lawn.

They problem isn't that people didn't know what ( ) means, it's that they can't infer it. Abstract thought is no longer taught very well.
Some of us avoid trailers.

And there's always the option to take 3 halfway broken ones, and make 2 working ones out of those.
That's some fuzzy math. .5x3=1.5 working machines.

if I had mod points I would give them all to you testify!

I remember people saying that about 15GB drives. And yes... I'm sure other slashdotters recall the same issue at smaller drive sizes.
Just buy GH:WT, order the MIDI cable and then return GH.

I would have it play the theme to "Will it Blend?"

I also meant to include the fact that cable channels are broadcast for free over c/ku-band satellite.

Because it's like a movie.

"Can he produce energy from the closed system and charge a batter? " Usually the batter charges the pitcher.
If you don't like the way Slashdot runs why don't you go make your own website with blackjack and hookers?
I hate trackpads... even one of apple's excellent multi-touch trackpads.
I much much prefer the nubb'n.
I'm surprised there's not been a move to the nub now that widescreen monitors are so commonplace.
What I really want is a monitor that's even closer in ratio size to that of a keyboard. Something closer to 2:1.
Notebooks should be much wider than they are deep imho.
