This (http://www.myserp.com/) probably does it better.

    It does this:

In November 2004 we built the first version of MySERP our aim was to help us find more interesting things via search by simply taking out the websites we already knew about or weren't interested in. Instead of opting in to a set of websites or web pages our theory is it will be easier to just opt out of them by default - no more shopping comparison sites, no more affiliate link sites, no more Pay Per Click ad sites.

    Pretty cool huh?

Semantic Web = the promise that never quite delivers

Such a good idea in theory, but where does trust come from? Who can we trust to mark anything?

And by the time any of this is solved google will have evolved so it can understand plain text better than mark up. How do you markup something as ambiguous? Unsure? Rumor? It's pretty easy in plain English:

"I hear Joe is living in Cornwall". There you go, easy to use and no angle brackets.

People trust organic search results more, so even if they were more expensive to buy than paid for adverts, you'd get more bang for your buck.

People who click on adverts are less likely to 'convert' (buy and item, sign up for a newsletter etc) than people who click on a natural search result

Spam sucks bad, but if you can get into the top 20 of googles natural search, you have hit gold.
